Dependents no longer entitled to an extension if linked to a retirement visa.

As of 1st September 2007 dependents will no longer be granted an extension of stay if the host foreigner has an extension based on retirement. 

Previous to this a member of the host foreigners family could apply and recieve an extension of stay due to them being a dependent of the host who has an extension based on retirement.

Now, any dependent wishing to get an extension of stay will have to do so on their own merits.  This means that they will have to indivdually meet the set requirements needed to be entitled to an extension of stay, and not be able to "piggy back" from the host foreigner with the retirement extension.

Anyone who has this type of extension will NOT be "grandfathered", which means this will apply to everyone in this catagory regardless of whether they held an extension before 1st September 2007.

In addition to this, when applying for an extension based on retirement a map must now be supplied with directions to your house.
