I am currently using it, I had it prescibed from Bumrungrad.

4,250 B for a five week supply...but the course is 3 months.

I can't answer your question as to if its availavle over the counter, but at least its IS available, and the cost really does not matter if it works.

I have been on them for 9 days.......its got to the stage now where I feel physically sick if I smoke a cigarette...which is good.
However its taken me quite a while to get to this point, some can get there sooner, as I was a 40 a day guy, its taking me longer.

I really hope its works

You need a docter to to prescribe and obtain this drug. I got 12 weeks supply at Bangkok
hospital in Pattaya. It cost me an arm and a leg but after takeing 3 of the six packs i find i no longer
need the tablets. biggrin.gif I had problems sleeping while on the pills but now i am fine ,any urge to smoke is
easyly forgoten and i feel that this time i have given up for good. in the past i have tried patches gum
hypnosis and always felt the need for a cig. this time no problem so although it doesent work for everyone
it worked for me and i recomend it to any serious about stopping. I smoked for fifty years and if i can do
it anyone can smile.gif .Best of luck to all..

Well...I'be been told by my dad, who quit smoking with Champix, that it works well... so I wanna go for it too!
Now, all I want to know is where you can get it. Which hospitals have it or is it possible to buy it over the counter. Don't care about Silom stories...looking for the real deal! jap.gif

You continue smoking for about 7 days after taking the tablets as it takes a while for the drug to begin working.

I had it prescribed to me at Bumrungrad,

You will have to see a specialist doctor.

Expensive but not available over the counter. Still whatever the cost you will more than get it back on the money you save on Ciggies over the next 12 months, plus the health benefits

Not available at any hospital up here in CM unfortunatley, I was only given a months supply. 5,000 baht or thereabouts

It definatley works..if you can cope with the side effects, I had a mate in the UK who put me onto it, he managed to quit after the three months , which is how long you are supposd to take it for

Champix rules

Greatest respect to the guys who did a cold turkey. But the sucess rate is not even 5 %. How can anyone recommend that? Let the tough guys be tough (and silent), and let us "weak" guys have a chance to quit smoking.

Champix gives "funny" dreams, nausea, etc.. Can be googled

Got it from the Bangkok Phuket Hospital. Send the gf in with a plausible story, and she walked out with it........

One month already biggrin.gif

Yeehaw

I have just bought Quomem which is zyban in other countries.

Costs 2,300 baht for 60 tablets (one month) from Boots

or PH drugstore in Central for 1700 Baht.

I used zyban in England and it worked but then the doctor messed up the prescription i went on holiday for 2 weeks without any tablets...guess what...back on the fags...got home and the doctor only prescribed another 2 weeks for me so it was all messed up..

But this time we will see....

Champix / Zyban / Quomem as far as i can tell reading on the internet they are the same drug just packaged with different names for different countries..

You are correct of course they are not the same drug. I was attempting very poorly to state they basically do a similar job in curbing the cravings.

I am now on day 10 of taking quomem but i had my last smoke 4th September so according to the instructions it should be today i quit but this is my 4 th day.

Yesterday was hard and i had a lot of deep deep cravings but i spent alot of time researching quitting smoking on the internet and came across some videos on you tube about

EFT ! for quitting smoking..... its crazy and funny but works ! it helped me no end yesterday through the biggest hardest waves of cravings...

Its basically tapping acupuncture points on your body while repeating a little mantra and embracing your problem instead of fighting it...

It may not be conventional but with the aid of quomem and EFT yesterday was okay(actually it was pretty intense but today it feels like it was okay!!)...My goal is only for today....see what happens..

took Champix for a week, stopped on 8th day, kept on taking Ch for another 2 weeks, then stopped Ch, still have some left in a 50 tablet box.
it's now 5 weeks without a single cigarette. I was a smoker for 15y, 2-3 packs a day. I quite 5 weeks ago. Still can't believe I pulled it off.. No more head aches, no back pain.
