Im driving my car from Chiang Mai to Krabi on tuesday. What is the best route? and specially how can I avoid BKK? How long this trip should take? Thanks in advance... and Im driving with full loaded Chevrolet Zafira. Big Mango Map - Greater Bangkok & Expressways I would stop-over in Cha Am - Hua Hin on the way down. From there 7-8 hours. Chiang to Bangkok 7-8 then a couple more to Cha Am - Hua Hin. Drive during the day. Safe trip & lets us know how it went. Yours truly Kan Win (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

I would not even attempt to drive that far in one day, not even as far as Hua Hin from CM. I'm all in by the time I get to Bangkok.
If I were you I would stop in Ayutthaya, then the journey can be easily (and safely) completed in 2 days....and if you have never seen Ayutthaya it's well worth it so I'm told |
