Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5 is out, just eight days after the browser updated to version 3.5.4. For Windows, Mac, and Linux, the new version of the browser fixes three bugs: one critical bug across all platforms, and then one lower priority one for Windows and one lower priority one for Mac.

I checked on my laptop and saw that I am still running version 3.0.3. Clicked on Help>Check for Updates… and got this window:
Attached File  Firefox.gif ( 9.97K ) Number of downloads: 21

I think I'll wait with the update for the time being.

You are so far behind they can not even check for an update - download 3.5.5 and install. I suspect security issues if you do not as Firefox seems to correct with updates rather than patch.

3.5.5 seems to be very stable. No issue to report (yet)

you should uninstall your current version - not updrade. Attention: tick "leave personal settings... plug-ins etc". Otherwise its gone.
Then do a fresh installation with 3.5.5. In case something goes wrong... backup everything with the "MozBackup" utility or set restore point.
I recommend MozBackup
