Complete newcomer to GPS and I think I require assistance to get the full benefits. I bought a nuvi 710 2 weeks ago(Carrefour Udon Thani) and used the CD to change to the English version of the Maps. I downloaded first of all to an SD card, but the machine appears not to recognise this card. I believe I can legally update to a newer version of the Map for a year, but have no idea how to do this? Anyone able to help? I live out in the sticks (Yasothon area) and no shops here even knows what a GPS is for. Thanks in advance for any help available

Try to visit the ESRI website. All the explanations you need. I made myself the update at the v10 of the thai map yesterday, piece of cake

What map is working on the GPS now, if any? If you are talking about an ESRI CD, then the instructions are on the disk. It involves changing out a file in the Nuvi 710 internal memory. You should not have to mess with a microSD card, just replace (overwrite) the existing map file, usually gmapsupp.img, in the internal memory. Before you start, make a copy of the Nuvi 710 internal memory - just in case. Get your existing map working to your satisfaction, then worry about updates.
