My Content
Born in the UK.
A bachelor's degree in Geography and a DPhil in Urban Design. (And yup, I rowed against Abhisit's St John's in my time.) Moved to work in Asia over 15 years ago and was then transferred to Thailand. I took the decision to set up my own marketing and management consultancy in 1999, based out of Bangkok - and since then I have been fortunate to work with clients across Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Southern Africa. One of my interests, amongst others, is understanding how the presentation of monarchy and religion in popular art is used to recreate acceptable public histories. Taksin, Vajarivudh, Prajadhipok, Phibun, Sarit, Silpha Bhirasri (Corrado Feroci), Sukkothai, Ayutthaya, Nonthaburi and Rattanakosin, along with the Chakri Dynasty - they all provide fascinating case study material. Gramsci... if you were here today I would love for you to rent an apartment in the Dusit area of Bangkok, and meet me for a beer. Roll on 2014. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE I have noticed more and more Thai Visa News Forum posts getting edited and changed by Moderators. In the past I saw this happen to other folks' postings. I thought "interesting" and not much further. Now, I have experienced Thai Visa "moderators" editing my posts. In these I state facts and information published in books and academic journals that are legally available in Bangkok's books stores, museums and public libraries. And leave the reader to form an opinion. I would advise all visiting the News Clippings Forum to be wary. In Thailand's current royallist times Thai Visa has very active moderators intervening on what, I can only assume, they believe are lesse majesty issues. A law that, of course (as I live in Thailand), I think is glorious and wonderful. THEREFORE: PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN READING MY PAST FORUM POSTS. SOME HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND THEY MAY NOT PRESENT THEIR ORIGINAL MEANING. . -------------------- Today my dreams came true. I woke up sitting next to Genghis Khan, drinking a pint of Guinness, naked, on the BTS.
