This is a hoot - but very valid!! BR>Jack Lion Corporation (Thailand) Co is claiming a world first with the introduction of a detergent especially for people who wash their clothes at night. Mr Boonyarith says Silver Nano technology developed by researchers from Chulalongkorn University is behind the detergent innovation. Pao Silver Nano is formulated to reduce bacteria-causing odours and leave clothes smelling fresh, even though hanging them out to dry at night takes longer in the absence of sunlight. Managing director Boonyarith Mahamontri said the new product used Silver Nano technology developed by researchers from Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Science in collaboration with Lion Corp. "Pao Silver Nano will respond to the increasing need of new-generation consumers who like to wash and dry their clothes at night without odour," he said.As well, he said, the product should find a market because Thailand's hot, humid climate makes it easier for bacteria to proliferate. The product is expected to attract busy young people who are unable to do laundry in the daytime. The company claims that Pao Silver Nano can eradicate 99.99% of bacteria from clothes while being washed. |

Ooooh , don`t tell me we will all HAVE TO do our washing at night...
I assume they will export it to the west as well, since there is not much sunshine there either..... |

I left my clothes out over night once in Northern China, would it help in this situation?

With additional research, additives, marketing etc they should get drying and ironing incorporated into this breakthough product by years end.

They seem to be taking the Colgate "fill the shelves" policy to heart. They went from the normal hand wash, auto wash and have added auto/white, auto/color, auto/soft and now auto/night. Actually the detergent does seem to work well in Japanese type machines (local top loaders).

If they could produce odorless handwash foam, too, that would be great. So far it's the only kind of foam available, and I don't like the smell on my hands after using it.

It seems like it might be good in the rainy season when it can take 3 days for the laundry to dry. By the time the laundry is dry, its time to do another load.

Non-washable, just take off clothes and shake them clean would be the answer to a MAN's best Dream. Just have an Aberdeen shower with your clothes on.... For those of you not familiar with an Aberdeen shower it is a quick squirt with an aerosol de-odourant |

The serious side (from Wikipedia):
"In Silver Nanotechnologies and the Environment, environmental toxicologist Dr. Samuel Luoma claims that widespread use of nanoscale silver will challenge regulatory agencies to balance important potential benefits against the possibility of significant environmental risk." And remember: silver particles in photographic film darken when exposed to sunlight, so it might be advisable to hang out your laundry only at night or only wear it at night after that This post has been edited by lothda: 2009-07-04 18:46:46 |
