Thailand confirms 78 new H1N1 cases

BANGKOK: -- Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health reports 78 new Influenza A (H1N1) patients, raising the number of the total H1N1 cases in the country to 1,132.

Of the 78 new infections, 71 cases are students, said Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai.

He said he is worried about the spread of the new flu among students as the number of new student cases is still high.

The ministry is cooperating with schools to make up classes for students who have fallen sick to assure parents that students can rest at home to regain full recovery and will be able to keep up with lessons.

At present, 22 H1N1 patients remain hospitalized, said the minister.

According to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) figures, there have been 238 deaths and nearly 56,000 infections worldwide.

The BKK Post website also has it. It is also reporting that they were withholding information. I wonder what their reason for this is?
