True has just started offering ADSL in Chiang Mai and I am interested in getting it at my house where the cable is unfortunately not available. I have True cable in my "office" and I am very happy with it. I know it just started a few weeks ago but somebody must have signed up for it by now. Does anybody know how this new True ADSL is in Chiang Mai?

By my logic, this new service hopefully means new equipment and a not-overloaded system...yet anyways. Does that make sense? Thanks for any input!

They said that is finally ready down where I live, less than 2 kms south of CM Gate. We did the paperwork and they said it will be about 4 days as they are busy hooking up many customer around CM. So I am hoping it may be hooked up Saturday (if they work saturday) but it isn't likely since "TIT". I will let you know though.

Excellent, cheers. thumbsup.gif

I was one of the first customers in Chiang Mai to sign up for True Cable when it first became available, and I was with them for a little over 2 years - that service remains the best Internet I've had in Thailand so far. I hope their ADSL will prove as good, too.

Ya I am very happy with the True Cable internet in Chiang Mai. I just wish I could get that at my house. I have had the Cable for around 3 years already and its always good especially now that my 256kb connection was up'ed to 3mb! I think everybody has already signed up for MaxNet so True probably won't become over-subscribed so it "should" be good I hope!

There's been a large migration from MaxNet to CAT in Chiang Mai over the previous months. Not sure if that has improved MaxNet's speed or reliability in any way but it seems to have slowed down CAT a bit.

I know others have had more luck, but my own experience of MaxNet has been rather disappointing and I am unlikely to ever sign up with them again unless it's the only option available.

I believe Nick in the Mad Dog runs on True, as I asked the manager, probably ADSL I guess.
I got BBC in there the other day when it seemed all but unavailable on Maxnet at home.

True ADSL has only been available for maybe 6 weeks or so in Chiang Mai so he likely has True Cable like me who is just around the corner on Moon Muang Soi 1. As I said before, the cable has no issues that I have found in about 3 years of it.

I asked Nick today and he has True ADSL......and is very pleased......but he said it has not been widely available whatever that means.

Day 3 on True ADSL and all good so far. It kicked out once today but I reset the router and it came back on pretty fast.
