It does the job although I have given up using it--however the reason does not reflect on the Suite's abilities but more down to the fact that, as with all 'Full-Internet Suites' of whatever provider, they are all huge resource hogs and the same job can be done without using nearly as much processor by using a good virus protection and scanning for Malware when you feel the need--regularly, that is--having been using ZA Sec. suite for several years I switched to Avast Anti-Virus amd Malwarebytes Anti-spy and have no regrets. By all means use ZA firewall, if you want, but I have very few problems using the set-up I mention.

I have used Zonealarm for three years now and found it to be not only extremely effective but also one of the easiest to understand and use. Continually updated and no ongoing charges.

The only thing I would note is that in common with many other A/V sometimes the security levels are set to high for general surfing, many site elements blocked, but this can be easily adjusted.

I have not noticed any slowdown when running but there is a maybe 10 second delay on startup. Allthough my systems are always kept pretty much up to date in technology terms.
