Chang Draught And Chang Light

Anybody know where you can buy a 12 bottle CASE of either of these? I've just looked everywhere, and cannot find them.

Thought I'd cracked it in Carrefour last week when I saw cases of Draught, but when I carried it to the checkout, they told me the price was the same as 12 single bottles, ie they don't sell it by the 'case', just individually. Same in Tesco's @ Rawai - sell me a case, but only at the 12 bottle price.

Twilight Zone, or what?!

Poor Service ...why?

We're staying in a villa, pretty classy, my family pay around 8000 baht per day.
The first 3 days everything was perfect. The villa is beautiful, the service was good, we felt very lucky.
But then... mistake after mistake...
Not enough breakfast served or not what had been ordered (3 times within a week is just too much)
No bottles of water, 1 bottle per day p.p. is really poor for this kind of an accommodation, but getting none is even more lousy.
Clean bed covers, but no clean pillow covers, towels missing etc etc etc.

We're pretty tired of calling the reception. We already booked for a month and have 2,5 weeks to go.
I stayed in much cheaper accomodations but never have experienced this before.

What can be the reason for this? The staff is lovely, a big A for that, but why this poor service?

For Those Wanting To Hire A Pick Up Cheap

Can't find the post about a lady (i think) wanting to find a cheap pick up to rent to move furniture.

We were in this situation on the weekend, had to move my stuff about 7 minutes away, to my new house. I contacted Budget at the airport and they wanted to take 20,000bt from my card and then deposit back when the car was returned. Now I understand deposits and guarantees, but I refused to allow them to do this. All they needed to do would be to authorise the card for the amount, NOT take it out. So I turned on my heels.

Budget were cheapest at 1410 (inc Insurance or 1110 without - an 8k excess) that I could find. After having quotes of 4200...hahahah, inc 4 men, even though I did most of it myself, I refused that one.

Popped next door to David car rental and managed to get a pickup, single cab (thankfully as my sofa is long) for 1000bt.

Not that I want to be moving again, but it works out so much cheaper for anyone needing to do this, who only has a bike and if you need help, I'm sure a few TV members will help you out or pay a few Thai's to lift the stuff onto the back for a few hundred.

HTH

Dmct / Thai Visa Charity Bike Week Is In Kanchanaburi This Weekend

Hi Everyone,

The DMCT/Thai Visa Benefit Bike Weekend is in Kanchanaburi this weekend 21 -22 November 2009. It is just around the corner. Only 5 days and counting.

REMEMBER this is for the Foundation for Children which is a registered charity providing schooling and care for Orphans or disadvantaged children here in Thailand. It's a chance to give back to this beautiful country many of us now call home, We are particularly collecting for Moon ban dek orphanage school in Kanchanaburi ; See here for FFC details www.ffc.or.th

FFC rely on donations and help like ours, because they get NO money from the Thai Government.

If you would like to attend, please look at the accommodation on this page. http://dragonsmcthailand.com/InfoPage.html

Or browse the DMCT/Thai Visa info threads.

If you cannot attend you can make a simple donation through:

http://dragonsmcthailand.com/ATM_Donations..._Bike_Week.html

Remember that even if you give just 50 baht that it all adds up

(Example, 300 members giving just 50b = 15,000b). So with over 49,000 members here on Thai Visa, we should be able to give a healthy amount of money.

Foundation for Children is in need of your help…. Bikers and Non Bikers are invited to attend the event or help with donations.

For more information about the event , look here: www.dragonsmcthailand.com

Or contact Chris at 084 915 7009 / chris_president@dragonsmcthailand.com

Event Schedule

(Last Update: November 16,2009)

Saturday: November 21, 2009

10:00am PTT Station Rangsit : Group Ride Meet Up

10:45am PTT Station Rangsit: Group Ride / Stands Up

10.30am Nakhon Pathom, Chedi Group ride Meet up

11.00am Nakhon Pathom, Chedi Group ride / stands up

12.30pm Group ride merge at Bang Len Gas stop

1:30pm Approx Arrival Time to Xen Hideaway Resort Kanchanaburi

2:00pm – 6:00pm Check in: Xen Hideaway Resort – or – alternative respective hotels,

Camping on site is available, please enquire with Chris

4:30pm – Onward Purchase Tickets.
Another Mudslide

That was a huge amount of rain that fell this afternoon, our roof drains could barely cope. Regrettably the rain has washed away much of the protective concrete cover that was put in place to protect the ground behind Beverley Hills (Nanai/Soi 9) following that huge mudslide two years ago. Gone are all the trees, plants, ground cover and soil and it looks like another major construction job could be in the works, serious sympathies to owners and residents alike who are only just recovering from the previous catastrophe.
