If you are on Moon Muang Road at Thapae Gate and walk towards the intersection with the original Mike's Burgers and the newest Gecko Books you will find a good dermatologist about 3/4 of the way to the intersection. It is near The Cafe' Restaurant. He has been there for ever and speaks English well.
I traveled all over SEA with a horrible skin disease that no one knew how to treat and he cleared it up in no time.
If I am standing on Moon Muang Road at Thapae Gate, there are three directions in which I can proceed: (1) North on Moon Muang Road; (2) South on Moon Muang Road; or (3) West on Ratchadamnern Road. Assuming that I do not know the locations of Mike's original burger shop, the newest Gecko bookshop, the Café restaurant, or the car seller's tent, which option must I choose, and approximately how far should I expect to walk (in any of the generally accepted international measures of distance) before arriving at the clinic? Are you at liberty to reveal the doctor's name or any other information that might be displayed as an indication of his practice?
Much obliged.
His name is Dr. Siri and his address is 119 Thanon Moon Muang; fairly close to a Wat and only a few doors from the Montri (sign on the clinic window is in Thai only). Get there early (like 16:30), take a number and return at 18:00 unless you like waiting.
North on Moon Muang Road from Thapae Gate and almost to The Cafe'. It is maybe a three minute walk past the Montri.

I have to say I am a bit perplexed by the fascination with seeing a dermatologist MD who is female and very attractive.
Logic (to me, anyway) would dictate that if I had some god-awful unsightly skin disorder, I would chose the exact opposite to view my condition....

LOL! Well said mate! I think our hormones were getting the best of us. I'm sure any attractive dermatologist would fine us "unattractive" once we presented our condition.

I went to the Dermatology Department at Chiang Mai Ram hospital to see if I could get a couple of big scars on my face treated. The Doctor I saw was Dr Sagulrat Charnsil. Within seconds of presenting my scars, she immediately advised my to get a full laser treatment over my entire face for 3000 Baht. She said the procedure would last 15 minutes. She did it in about 8 minutes, and it felt as if she had only done a really small part of my face. After the treatment, was finished she showed me the mirror and insisted that my skin was already better. I didn't notice the slightest difference. I went to put my shoes on, trying to think of questions to ask the doctor, when I turned around, she had disappeared. I asked the nurse where is the doctor. "Oh, she's gone home!" I couldn't believe it. What an absolute insult to a patient. Rushing a procedure so that you can get the hel_l out of there because you've got better things to do. The procedure cost me 3000B. I have also heard from others that the outpatient quality is very poor these days at the Ram Hospital. I invite others to please share their experience at Ram Hospital. I have had quite a few bad experiences with inattentive Doctors in Chiang Mai, especially female Doctors. All the male doctors have been fantastic. I wonder whether this is just a freak coincidence or not. My new rule, is to never seek specialist treatment at Chiang Mai Ram hospital. Oh and I forgot to mention, that I also saw a female ophthalmologist to check my eye after an injury. She said it was fine! I wasn't convinced, and being concerned, I went to The St. Peters Eye Hospital where my eye was rigorously checked by a male doctor. He spent almost three times as long, and spoke excellent english. I knew this guy was taking my injury seriously. It turned out I had a severely swollen retina. There really are some shocking, lazy specialist in Chiang Mai, but thank god there are some good ones too

Completely agree. I had my first attack of psoriasis in Chiang Mai. No one (including me, of course) seemed to know what it was. He did, and had the medicine in house to clear it up.

Next time go see Dr. Siri. He has a clinic whose directions are above or you can see him at his office at Sripat. He is considered to be one of the best doctors in Thailand. He also practiced in the USA. He has a state of the art laser in his Moon Muang clinic. He worked on me with the laser until about 10:00 in the evening one night (about 2 1/2 hours). Cost: 2,000 THB. Perfect fluent English.
