TOT went down Thailand-wide short after 6PM and just came back on the grid.
TOT satellite is still down. Seems like they f#cked up bigtime again. Wouldn't it be nice if they finally started employing farang employees with knowledge...... #5Posted 2007-10-21 21:38:52
Started working again at 21.34 in Samut Prakarn

I'm still down in Chiang Mai. Using wonderful dial-up. Hope I get my ADSL up before the Pats game at midnight or the Sox at 7 a.m.

I spoke too soon. It's working ever so slow in Sisaket.

TOT Satellite is now working.
Six and a half hours downtime. That's gonna be 1 day off my bill.... #11Posted 2007-10-22 03:07:05
TOT apparently had a problem with their second DNS server.

I see from the posts that ToT sat came back up 30 minutes after I went to bed. I have always had my 256k speed, but a small delay before pages started. They seem to have fixed that I am getting snapy response to page req. and still my normal speed. so seems an improvement inservice has taken place. Outage was internet only as my phone which works v sat was still working the whole outage time.

Guess I have been more succesful in the past with TOT then.....
Last week I went to the TOT office to pay my bill. After proving 8 days downtime, they discounted my bill for 8/31 * monthly fee, which come down to aprox. 117 baht per day (Corporate sat connection), total of 936 baht. The month before that 5 days were taken of the bill. I made it quite simple for them: I pay for what I get. No service, no pay. If you don't like it, I won't pay anything at all, and TOT can come and take their dish. Usually takes an hour of arguing, but it's worth the fun. My business partner, who also uses TOT satellite for backup, uses the same arguments and never had to pay for TOT's lack of service. If you want to do the same, record your connection time. MRTG is a great way to do that. Yes, it requires a bit of indepth knowledge to set it up, but it's all explained on the internet. And when you go to the TOT office, best question to ask all the time: why TOT make so many problems? |
