Well, I don't have residency and I don't plan on dishing out several thousand dollars to get it either, BUT, I pay a sh1t-load of taxes... probably more than most well-to-do nationals.  I have a non-b visa, a work permit, I speak Thai, I have a Thai driver's license, etc.  That should count for something and it does in some parks, but not in all.  :o

Can anyone provide a link to the Thai language announcement. It should be countersigned by the inimitable Chalermsak Wanichsombat, the head of the National Parks Department.

The three National Parks I've been to since the change have all charged the corresponding amounts that the OP says they're supposed to.

I'm extremely suspicious of this new found desire to follow their own rules... :o
