After a six month enforced absence, it's good to find those smiles again...

I'm not sure if this is the right way to reply to your post, but nice pix mate. What are you using for your panoramas? Thank you. Panorama Maker 3.0 All my panos are hand held btw. Good photo from all of our members. Keep them coming please. Yours truly, Kan Win #53Posted 2009-07-08 18:24:19
Although I have dozens of photos of Chaing Mai and its temples, I don't have many that I think are all that artistic. They are just pictures of local sites with not particulary interesting lighting or dynamic composition.
However, I did like these photos of a temple in Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi. ![]() ![]() Temple bells always make a great photo subject if you get the correct lighting. ![]()

I spent some time in May at Chiang Mai. It rained a bit as can be seen from my photo. I must say it was a really nice time, I liked the place a lot and it was great to see somewhere other than Bangkok or the usual resort places I seem to end up all the time, nice people too.
Makes one realise that there is more to Thailand than work in Bangkok or quick breaks to Cha am, Phuket et al. I know its no work of art but here is a pic for the collection. Edit....it wont upload my picture, even the computer is a critic. Edited by Cobalt60, 2009-07-08 19:08:50. #55Posted 2010-02-03 10:19:08

There is so much there to see it's difficult to say, 1) Doi Suthep ( Important temple on the mountain) 2) Old City, within the ruined walls - no need for a guide just walk and explore it's fantastic. 3) Night Bazzar - a bit touristy but worth a look ( I have just realised I cannot spell bazzar!) 4) (no experience) Flight of the gibbon - never heard a bad report but have not done it yet. 5) Muay Thai - in Loi Kroi Road and Moon Muang road - I think the later is the real deal 6) Bars & clubs - if you are youngish Nimmahinan road - if a little bit older Loi Kroi road. thats a starter for you.... tons more when you arrive! have fun #61Posted 2012-03-01 04:14:29
Here's some pics of the "Countdown Party" at The Pae Gate, New Years Eve 2011/12. First of all the moat......
Followed by the normal sight of beautiful girls struggling with a lantern Up, Up and Away Here comes the Fireworks I loved this Christmas Tree, one of the best I've ever seen, and it's made of........ Old CD's !! The Thais are amazing at making beauty from other people's rubbish....... and here's a view of the stage show behind Rudolph....I never thought I would see Rudolph in Chiang Mai. |
