That's sweet, but save it for yourself, I am a Thai citizen, so I have more right to be here than you...  :o
First you say you came here with a farang, now you say you're a Thai citizen .. sorry but you don't make sense.

I am a Earthling. I have just as much right to walk this earth as you. BS!

BTW, Khun Larry..............are you a 50-60 year old farang with a 25-35 year old Thai gf? Seems like it, only those kind gets very sensitive about what other women have to say about the Thai women.  Monkeygirl has a right to say anything she wants as she IS Thai.
Sorry not 50 for a while yet. Your assumptions are likely based more on the terseness of my comments than their validity. Actually my GF is from NYC and is not Thai. She is over 40 thank you.

I had a 2 year relationship with a Puying Thai. Would not be interested in another relationship with a Thai woman at this time.

Your comment "Monkeygirl has a right to say anything she wants as she IS Thai" is mindboggling.

Here is a link to a BS article about blissfully single women. :o

Thats actually an interesting article KL, I know a lot of women of my mums age (mid 50's) who regret staying married to men they no longer want to be with just because it's expected or for convenience sake. In fact my aunt who has been married for nearly 40 years recently let her husband go to thailand with a married couple (thai lady/farang man) & expressed the thought (joyfully) that he might even in fact meet a new women & would the kids (35 & 39 years old) mind having a thai step mum. When it didn't happen she was quite disapointed & it turned out that he did nothing more risque than have a few too many beers one night. She's now trying to persuade him to go out on his own in the hope that her master plan will come about! :o

KL, well I think it is more "mindboggling" for you to think you know more about the Thai people as you and your lady are non-Thais. As monkeygirl seems to be Thai, I would think she would know more about her own country's culture and etc than you would. I must say I do agree with some of her comments, having seen it happen in REALITY more often that I would like to. :D

I do agree with your comments that you would not want to date another Thai girl from experience.........see, some do learn from it instead of going on to the next one blindly!! Kudos for that! Unfortunately some never learn........ :o

There are 2 kinds of farang men here.............one that denies he has ever been "conned" and go on thinking the next one may be different (which usually are not) ........................and the other who learn from it and stay way clear of the Thai women's antics :D

As for someone's comments about foreign women preferring Thai men...........not me. I cant even imagine getting close to one let alone having a relationship with them. Well, thats my opinion.......I may get slated for this. :D

RC and Splitlid - I never said there were ONLY 2 kinds......but from what I see, thats how it seems. There are farang men who prefer farang women too. Who knows, you two could be unique!!! :D

Every country has its "black sheep" but it just seems more prominent in the less developed countries. :D

Elfe - I say NEVER as I am already happily married so no way....they dont appeal to me. Too narrow minded and old fashioned for my taste. Even the overseas educated ones.........they tend to fall back to their roots/upbringing sooner or later.  :o  Not from experience but from observation.....

Oh i see the difference now "there are 2 kinds" not "there are only 2 kinds" hmmm

I dont prefer falang women to thai women, they are all women, some good some bad. As Ive said before, I've never met a female expat here, then again my nearest falang neibour is 50 km away.

Oh yes I am unique, as is everybody.

Rod, maybe you should come back to REALITY and OPEN your eyes in Thailand.

We never said ALL Thai women are bad. You may be surprised that there is a percentage of professional, overseas educated Thai women who have a syndicate to go out with farangs to....."upkeep" the lifestyle they are used to. One of my Thai friends is in this "group".  That's her choice, I tell her my opinion and we are still friends. :o

Like I said and reiterate, there are good and bad women/men everywhere..........just more predominent in less developed countries.

P/S are you middle-aged?

BTW, to each their own opinion about TH depending on ..........each individuals wants and needs..maybe it be physical, emotional, self-esteem or career wise.

We can lead a horse to water but we cannot make it drink..........no one is asking everyone to agree with our comments/opinions.  :o

One can ponder about it and make his own judgement/opinions and not get all bent out of shape about it.....touchy! :D

Splitlid, yes I know Rod is entitled to his opinion. The way he expresses his opinions is as if everyone else in this forum is NOT entitled to their opinions. "Bollocks" would mean he is a typical Brit.........who are known to love TH and all its "wonderful offerings". Been to UK and loved it better than TH though............. :o

Yes, I am in TH and have resided here for the past 2 years and travelled here for work the last 8 years. I am not a farang nor a Thai/Indian but an expat. In my line of work, I have seen too many "cases" to be not very pro-TH.

Only a million dollars??? Just kidding :D

wow SK192, you sure have some strong opinions about thailand & her people. Could you do me a favour though & quit referring to "we" as it implys that all farang women on this forum or in LOS have the same opinions as you. Which I'm afraifd to tell you "we" don't.
Some of us have been here long enough to meet a cross section of people & know that you can't compartmentalise a whole country, developing or not. I have met some great thai people in my time in Thailand who have helped me out emotionally & financially. I have also had the misfortune to meet some really nasty calcualting people here too, but I know that there are good & bad everywhere, so don't explain it all away on their nationality.

As for farang men in Thailand, well, as I was living on Samui for many years I happened to meet a lot of guys with bar girls or enjoying the scene, now at first I admit I was shocked & a bit horrified when I saw an older guy with a younger thai women but over time & getting to know some of them I realised that things aren't quite so black & white & as bad as it is to my western sensibilities it is a much needed source of income for a lot of people. Most of these girls DO have a choice between working in the bar scene or picking rice, hopefully they ARE savvy enough not to be taken advantage of but that doesn't make them bad people. They are providing a service the same as all of the businesses that toursim support, som tam ladie, ice cream seller, small resteraunts, gift shops, hotels, guest houses, the list is endless. I'm not saying it's right but I am saying that it's not as cut & dried as you make out, not all guys here with thai g/f's are sad pathetic men who couldn't get a shag at an orgie, neither are all the thai women they are with calculating, conniving minxs who are out to fool & rip off the guys.  AND not all Thai woemn are prostitutes in any shape, form or guise.

I wont even go into your comments about thai men cause I think I've said it all before on other threads, read them if you want.

p.s Rod isn't a brit, he's a citizen of the world and also one of the more straight posters on this forum as is RC. I understand you point of view but cannot agree with what you saying, your entitled to you opinion as we all are but please refrain from flaiming people who don't agree with yours.
Cheers
Boo :o

Well, Boo.........thanks for your comments. I never mentioned that all Thai women are bad. I do have Thai friends too. I said there were both sides to them as in every country. I said "WE " as in its a saying "we can lead a horse to water but we cant make it drink" Its a GENERAL saying, I never said the other farang women feel the same or agree with me.  Just to let you know, "I" is usually not used in a general saying. Please read it properly before "flaming me".

I have no idea what a citizen of the world is. Does that mean he has NO nationality or affiliation to any country? In exile?? I do understand that RC, Rod and yourself are old hands in this forum so you would know each other better. That doesnt mean you have to "flame" newbies who have their own opinions.

I reiterate again that I did not say anyone has to agree with me. Its a free world and we are entitled to our opinions. Thats what a forum is for!!

If you can see, "flaming" goes BOTH ways. Rod indicated what I said to be bollocks and got a bit oversensitive about it. Read through all my postings and see whether I mentioned Thai women were prostitutes, I DID NOT. I think you all have confused me with someone else.

NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS EASY AND IT'S A COMPLEX WORLD.

I kinda like Thai men, all in all.  They're sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and generally lots of fun- along with being sexy as all get out.

They also seem a whole lot less conflicted about dating other guys than a lot of gays were in the U.S.- less of a whole societal guilt thing going on about it.

They're certainly not very sincere/reliable as a group- so if that's what you're looking for farang might be better.

see those smiley things..
theyre there to get you to relax.

SK your post did actually appear to indicate that you thought that there are only 2 types of farang men here in thailand.

maybe you should read what you write and consider the consequences.

it was actually a generalisation that you made and thats what upset a few peeps.
i wasnt upset cos it is actually true for many...but not all, and i could see what you meant.

Maybe youve been in bangkok for too long hanging aroung the tourist areas where you only get to see what that allows you to see.
if you venture out a bit further you may find some decent farang guys living here trying to make an honest living with the ones they love.

MAYBE :D

Splitlid - Once again, I have to say I didnt say every "tom dick and harry" farang in TH are bad. I did say it was predominently so in TH. I do admit I was generalising but who can blame me with what you see here.  I am not afraid to speak my mind.

I have been to outside Bangkok, many times as my husband's father has a house there with his TH wife.

I work for an org joint-venturing with the TH govt to try to get the "less fortunate" women off the streets but from their attitude and character, it would seem a lost cause. (I said seem) There are a rare handful who seem to really want to try but are easily influenced by peer/parental pressure and the "lifestyle" of what foreigners can offer.

I did not have any intention to flame the men here or make them become defensive or think they have to defend themselves. If one is happy and contented as they are, who gives a shite what others think right???

I beg to differ with you I think its completely opposite to how you've painted it, more the exception to the rule love. I think you grossly distorted what Thai women are really like.
