I believe NHkidCudi is talking about the Butcher Shop which is located just opposite Hin Nam Sai Suay on Petchkasem Road close to Soi 6. It's the same kitchen/menu as the three Mr Burger restaurants.

On the water we like Krua Medsai. In Cha Am beach road north and as the pavement runs out you'll see the big sign. Cheap, fresh and steps from the beach. #56Posted 2010-09-05 05:07:28
I just went to a brand new restaurant last night on Soi 90 (also accessible from Soi 94). It's called Terrace90 and I highly recommend it. They have a huge menu bound to satisfy most people and are open all day starting with breakfasts at 45 baht with a full American at 75 and a full English at 130 baht. They have steaks, American style ribs and pulled pork sandwiches, Italian food, Mexican food, and an extensive Thai menu (from what I noticed the Thai dishes range from 59 baht to 100 baht), all at very low prices for a restaurant of this quality (very nice with outdoor or indoor air conditionned seating). The selection and prices of drinks seemed good too compared with other similar restaurants. I had a very good bottle of California Zinfandel (a type of wine that I have not seen at any other restaurant) for 699 baht. To go with the wine I had the rib eye steak with pepper sauce on the side (jacket potato and steamed vegies included) for only 259 baht. My (Thai) wife had two of her favorite Thai dishes and gave them two thumbs up as well. As yesterday was opening day, you can expect a few minor problems until they get settled in (last night they had a power problem in the middle of our meal but it wasn't a total outage and there was still enough light to enjoy our meal and they were quick to arrive with floor fans on extension cords to keep us cool). The restaurant has very good (romantic) ambiance that you would not expect to find away from the beach or at these prices. They have a second floor that one of the (Thai) lady owners showed us at my request that is not open yet, but they plan to have more seating a nice bar with bar seating and some soft live music up there later. They also have a parking lot adjacent to the property which is always important to me. They said also that they are having a Cinco de Mayo celebration this Wednesday evening (May 5th). That's a famous Mexican holiday. They intend to have a ribs and Mexican buffet for 199 baht. According to the web site reservations are recommended. The place is on Soi 90 but it is also directly at the end of a small soi that runs from Soi 94 (2nd soi east of the railroad tracks. You can look down that soi and actually see the restaurant two or three hundred meters away. They already have a website up with extensive information about the menu, events, and location Terrace 90 We went for dinner one night. There was a buffet on downstairs. We ate upstairs, where there was a duo playing a very pleasant, easy-on-the-ear vocal/acoustic guitar set. I ate the fillet with fries and pepper sauce, my wife had the yam pla duk foo shredded catfish dish. Both were superb. The wine list is excellent and the prices are bafflingly cheap, but they need to keep the whites refrigerated: We ordered a good quality Aussie brut sparkling which was served at room temp, then shoved in an ice bucket! It was starting to taste quite delicious toward the bottom of the bottle. We had a couple of cocktails to finish, which were great. Despite the minor problems, we liked this place a lot and will be back next time we're in town. #57Posted 2010-09-05 15:20:44
^ Now besides their Friday Night 199 baht international buffet, Terrace90 are also serving an all you can eat Mexican food buffet for that same price on Tuesday nights. It starts this week and I can't wait to try it as Mex is one of my favorites.

There is a new restaurant in Khao Takiab that I like to recommend. It is called "KISS TRO" and is located on the right hand side when driving from the town about 100 metres after the Hyatt Regency intersection.
Kiss Tro is an international restaurant run by a French guy who has many years experience from being a chef in five star resorts and this guy really can cook and present his food the food very nicely. The price level is moderate but the quality for the money spent is nothing but excellent. I have now eaten there three times tasting meat, fish and pasta dishes and all have tasted fantastic. For me to say that doesn't come easy as I normally is quite choosy about food. Thai food is also available and cooked by a Thai lady, but my wife said it too is tasting very good. Kiss Tro also bake their own bread and it is also the best bread I have tasted here in Hua Hin. Give this restaurant a try fellows, you will not be disappointed. #59Posted 2010-09-24 08:36:09
Stgrhe,
Do you know if Kiss Tro is open for lunch? #60Posted 2010-09-24 17:48:24
Stgrhe, Do you know if Kiss Tro is open for lunch? Yes they are and I had lunch there again today. Actually they open quite early as they also sell fresh good quality bread. Also, I forgot to mention in my earlier post that the name "Kiss" has nothing to do with kissing but comes from Kissond, the owner's name. #61Posted 2010-09-30 19:03:53
I went to Terrace 90 on Tuesday for their relatively new Mexican Buffet on Tuesdays. 100% thumbs up, had everything I could have ever wished for, I don't even know the names of half the stuff, but it was delicious. Only downside I have to say was that there was a real shortage of food on the buffet table. You had to really hurry up and grab some when you had the opportunity. Actually in the end there was almost an evil atmosphere among the guests, I noticed once where they brought a new plate on enchiladas that a guy ran up and snatched the whole plate and brought it to his table.
But if they get it fixed so they have more food coming from the kitchen this could very well be a weekly thing for me #62Posted 2010-10-01 12:54:43 Quote But if they get it fixed so they have more food coming from the kitchen this could very well be a weekly thing for me Tomat, Yes, I was there Tuesday night as well and have since spoken to the staff about the slow refilling of the buffet. They told me that the Mexican buffet started on the first Tuesday of September and for the first three Tuesdays they had from 15 people to a maximum of 25 people who ordered it. All of a sudden, this week they had over 50 buffet customers and since it was unexpected, the kitchen was overwhelmed. They explained to me that they make the food in smaller batches so that they can refill the buffet continuously with fresh prepared food that hasn't been sitting in the warmers for a long time and since they had so many people on Tuesday the kitchen could not keep up. They told me that they would be putting on extra staff for that buffet now as long as it's popularity continues. #63Posted 2010-10-05 08:54:35

As a frequent visitor to Hua Hin (from BKK) I have tried many, many restaurants here and, with very few exceptions, have been mightily disappointed each time. Happily, those exceptions have been well worth the repeat visit. Terrace 90 is certainly one, as is the nearby Oy open air restaurant (just across the rail tracks on Petchkasem soi 94). Another which I recently discovered is Pizza Casa Mia on route 3218 just outside the central area of town. All of the above offer quality food with great value.

I know I've been accused of owning this restaurant because I mention it a lot, but it's just that I really like the place. I have no interest in it other than wanting it to succeed so that I can continue to eat there.
Anyway, for anyone interested, Terrace90 is having a traditional American Thanksgiving feast. The menu is (according to a flier I picked up): Starters: Pumpkin Soup Shrimp Cocktail Main Course: Roast Butter Ball American Turkey Old Fashioned Bread and Corn Bread Stuffing Turkey Giblet Gravy Cranberry Sauce Hickory Smoked Virginia Ham with Raisin Sauce Roast Potatoes Mashed Potatoes Vegetables Fresh Baked Dinner Rolls and Butter Asparagus and Shrimp in a Thai Sauce American Chicken Fried Rice Dessert: Pumpkin Pie –Fresh Baked Brownies, Cake and more – Fresh Baked Fresh Fruit Advertised prices are: Adults 439 Baht, till 18 Nov then 499 Baht. Children under 11, with Adult, 299 Baht. Children 6 and under eat free. It said reservations are mandatory and tickets are limited. Happy Thanksgiving! #66Posted 2010-11-17 16:29:30
I got the above Thanksgiving pricing wrong. It's 499 until tomorrow, 539 after that...

[snip] I can only second that, I have booked my tickets already. Terrace90 is amazing food. I'm sad though that I hear they are planning to stop the Tuesday/Friday 199 baht buffets and only have buffet one day and at 299 baht. Tuesday at Soi 90 has almost turned in to a tradition for me already And I can confirm that hhfarang is not the owner, I know both him and the owner of Terrace90 and they are definitely not the same person #68Posted 2010-11-19 23:08:54

Add drinks on top!!! I was looking forward to eating at Terrace90 but a 50% price hike sounds greedy to me so unfortunately will have to give it a miss. Might be an 'old' tradition at that price. Yes, it's sad that they can't keep the price at 199, but when I asked about it, I was told that they were losing money at 199. It was an introductory thing to make people aware of the new place, but an all you can eat buffet of that quality and in a place with that class of ambiance is not possible I guess. A lot of people come and eat a ton of food and drink water or soda and the profit margin just isn't there for the types of food they serve. If you haven't seen the buffet, I think it is still worth 299, but at 199 it was one of the best bargains in town. I don't know when your visit is but the 199 buffets are still in effect until the end of November. I go there for lunch once a week or so as I love Mexican food and ribs and I just have to have one of those mango margaritas once in a while so I'll probably still hit the buffets at least every couple of weeks. SORRY maths was never my strong point. For some reason I calculated it at around £15 a head!! of course that should be around £6 a head and at that price (and on your recommendation) I will still give it a go.

One of my favourite restaurants in Hua Hin is Natta's on soi 88. They serve excellent steaks at supricingly reasonably prices and have also delicious Thai food. Another favourite is the Vietnamese restaurant Madame Nu located on Petchakem Road between soi 88/1 and Market Village. Couldn't find Natta's, looked in Soi 88, but which Soi 88? There seem to be several, 88/1, 88/2 etc. Where is Natta's exactly? #72Posted 2010-12-20 09:09:32 Quote Couldn't find Natta's, looked in Soi 88, but which Soi 88? Take Soi 88 from Phetkasem road (Soi 88 not 88/1 or /2), cross the railroad tracks and immediately turn right on the west side of the tracks. You'll pass one of my favorite Thai restaurants on your left, Mini Farm, and keep going as the road makes a 90 degree turn to the left. Go up the hill about a kilometer and when you see the seven or eight story Mark Winn Hotel on your right, you're there. Natta's is across the street (a little bit back down but only a few meters) from the entrance of the Mark Winn parking lot. #73Posted 2010-12-21 02:50:20

Any chance of a review, hhfarang? Definitely, it's in my top 5 favorites of Thai restaurants in town, and maybe the best depending on the dish. I've never had any foreign food there (don't even remember if they offer it), but they have some of the best tasting, freshest Thai food at very reasonable prices. They have a small shop where they sell fresh organic produce and told us that is what they use in the food. Top quality ingredients and great Thai meals there so if Thai food is what you're after, do give it a try. #75Posted 2010-12-22 07:08:48
Thanks for that. I found a website. The menu seems a bit limited, but I suppose it doesn't matter too much if the food is nice.
