We would suggest never using your computer for anything involving bank accounts, credit cards anything that requires a password and makes you feel safe. There is very inexpensive software available that will allow anyone who can walk in your door and get onto your computer, to have every keystroke you enter sent via email to anywhere they choose.
This can be done easily and in two minutes by any friend, neighbor, girl/boyfriend that uses your computer. They only need to plug in a thumb drive and hit three keys, and it's done.
They can even send you an email attachment and if you open it, they "own" everything on your computer.
