I haven't received international mail ever since the airport protests began - I've been waiting for some important deliveries for weeks. Am I just unlucky or is noone receiving standard international mail at the moment? When are proper deliveries expected to resume? In case location is relevant I live in Bangkok - near Asoke.

I received an air mail letter from Hong Kong a couple of days ago that was post marked 24th November.
So it seems to be slowly getting through, but I live 15kms East of Pattaya - Bangkok should be quicker. #3Posted 2008-12-10 13:25:00
I have been waiting for an Express Mail delivery which was posted Nov 24. It left the US on Nov 26, but it hasn't even registered as arriving in Thailand yet.

For sending packages I have had all package sent to Australia go through successfully.
But all packages for the US have not arrived and are still marked as at Suvarnabhumi mail center in the tracking system. Maybe the US has some kind of security control which is not allowing packages through yet, until the airport is properly inspected? #5Posted 2008-12-10 14:12:50
all german customer ordering 23. November are complaining with the first one yesterday telling that it arrived.

Posted Christmas cards to friends and family in Australia the DAY BEFORE the airport closures. These were successfully delivered yesterday. However, still waiting for a registered package from Australia posted nearly a week before the airport closures. Maybe outgoing mail is being cleared more quickly than incoming articles/mail.

Thanks guys - at least I know I'm not alone now. I thought the claims that the airport was running normally again last Friday were somewhat dubious.
I hope things turn up eventually. Lucky #11Posted 2008-12-10 18:26:07
Not a thing here either (I'm also on Asoke) and I'm expecting quite a bit. You're not alone.

I would think there is a huge pile of mail and packages that were backlogged and now they are taking their sweet time sorting and sending the stuff.

I e-mailed the family to tell them not to bother with cards this Christmas. That was the day before the protest stopped. I saw no reason to change my mind, after they went home.

I received an air mail letter yesterday sent from Santa Barbara (CA, USA) on 24 November.
I live Sathorn area. #23Posted 2008-12-11 09:42:52
I sent two gift cards (w/photos inside) and a gift calendar from the regular post office
about 15th NOV. Nothing ever arrived. It's all "gone missing." I will never use the Thai postal system again. Only Fedex, UPS, or DHL. Absolutely deplorable system. #24Posted 2008-12-18 06:06:45
I sent a parcel from the UK on the 28th of nov to Aranyaprathet, still not arrived.
Anybody with better luck ? #25Posted 2008-12-18 11:06:10
I got two air mail letters from the USA in recent days, no obvious delays. I live near the airport, so maybe the postal service just throws them out of the airplane as it lands.
