Dunno, basic economics would predict a hot winner if they sell this bike for more than 100k baht less than Yamaha sells their equivalent. With the D-Tracker/KLX selling like hotcakes it looks like a no-brainer.
Maybe they'll wait for the 2009 model with the prettier headlights - the 2008 looks interesting, but a bit like a monster (and not in a good way)... #28Posted 2008-12-18 09:12:05
Sorry people, Currently I believe that somebody in Kawasaki has revised its ideas about the motorcycle market in Thailand, Kawasaki will not introduce any larger models at this point, next revue is up in 6 months. If your right on that, this is not good news.. I was thinking Kwaker pushing would be even more pressure on other manufacturers to improve pricing (FZ6) and pull thier finger out (honda and even maybe Suzuki).. I mean didnt the 250 launches go well enough, I hear they cant keep those Ninjas in the shop in my local Kwaker. @Tony, I agree the can is different but not unpleasant, its the 'eye of Sauron' headlight I am not fond off.. Tho the 09 model has made a big improvement while still keeping the main design the same. #29Posted 2008-12-18 09:14:27

I mean buying the end of run 08 would be a bit of a downer too.. As word is they can build these fast enough for Europe it doesnt sound like theres many hanging around to need to clear inventory. #30Posted 2008-12-18 12:12:04

Well, hopefully Richard is blowing smoke again, but TiT, so who knows. He never tells us who he works for, but IMHO sometimes I really think his posts are more manipulative/biased than factual... I'm still having a blast on the little Ninja 250R and can wait (impatiently) for the ER-6, so it's all good! Ding-ding; another person seeing the light. #31Posted 2008-12-18 12:16:24
BBB, I reakon those quick fixes for the er6n are even more fuggly that the original 'Hat'.
I agree with you the best fix is the 'F' fairing. #32Posted 2008-12-18 17:05:29
Odd as they made quite a nice aggressive look with the z750..
#34Posted 2008-12-18 17:40:01
Well then it looks like Kawa won't let us get the ER-6n and the Yammie will keep it's high price, so I better start saving up for the Yammie. BTW I was really keen on the BMW F650GS but the price went up with over 100,000,- Baht which I do understand since they now got an 800cc twin in it. BUT the price overseas is just under 10,000,- $ so the premium price here does not make any sense at all
Sad if Kawa don't push through 650 which might get us better priced alternatives as well... Ohh well LOS is Loss Of Smile now... Cheers Bard #35#36Posted 2008-12-18 20:29:55
Suzuki Stratosphere is a Suzuki concept motorcycle, powered by a 1100cc transverse narrow-bore 24-valve inline-6 engine, rated at 180 HP. According to Suzuki press materials, the engine produced above 100 lb-ft of torque from just above idle all the way to redline.
![]() ![]() ![]() It has been approved for production #37Posted 2008-12-19 17:13:55
That Suzuki looks pretty wild, but how many millions do you think it would cost in the LOS?
Back to the topic at hand. How about this pimped out ER-6N TURBO? ![]() Of course the mods would cost far more than the bike itself, but it's still pretty sexy #38Posted 2008-12-19 17:18:48
Nice looking bike. But a turbo is kinda extreme. Could use the same money for track days and become a better faster rider than the dude who slapped a turbo on. IMO.
#39Posted 2008-12-19 17:28:27
Zz, That Suzuki looks positively FAT until you look at the picture taken of it (from the riders seat) looking down onto the tank.....looks thin. 100lb of torque from idle, 180hp, sure would launch ok.
BBB, that bike looks hot, what are its stats with a turbo hooked up? got any idea? I agree with Travelmate, turbos are alright but not much use in LOS. Nice paint, awesome wheels. The front of that one looks good too - no hat. #40Posted 2008-12-19 17:58:29

The front of that one looks good too - no hat. I can't remember where I found that pic of the turbo ER-6n and I agree 110% that a turbo mc would be silly here in Thailand, but I really like some of the other mods they did to that bike so thought I'd share #41Posted 2008-12-19 18:07:11
One more-
![]() Just google er-6n turbo and you can find a lot more pics of this bike. Would love to know how they made that front end. Can anyone identify what it is? #42Posted 2008-12-19 18:22:49
Tony i think its hand made cos the rear light is cbr600 led not Kawa. its the same as my custom rear end on the cibby.
the headlight does look nice. #43Posted 2008-12-19 18:27:24
the whole bike is boner material (so to speak).
tail light looks hot, if only they come outa the factory like this for 300k. LOL Dreaming again....cant even get a standard one out of the factory here in thailand #44Posted 2008-12-19 18:48:51
Anyone else find it funny it says "ER6 Turbo" on the seat? Just in case you forget what you're riding

Anyone else find it funny it says "ER6 Turbo" on the seat? Just in case you forget what you're riding Well... I've got a good buddy who doesn't carry a map but always writes the final destination on a piece of paper and sticks it on his tank bag in case he forgets where he's going... #46Posted 2008-12-19 21:17:31
