I do have some questions though. In the picture of the three CBRs, I only saw helmets with flip down shields. Does nobody wear the full face style, or do they just not leave them on their bikes? Also, what, if any, leathers are used? We need to keep safe on the road, and I enjoy reading reports like these, preferring to not have them contain a "we had a good time, but....". Dave I was the first to write about the Iron Butt Ride. I didn't kick you in the ribs over your little "slide". We had a good time BUT.......................... #57Posted 2008-12-20 17:02:52

I'm confused; you pulled up a quote from exactly 7 months ago when I asked what type of safety gear people were wearing. As you know I had a full face helmet, leather jacket, gloves and motorcycle boots on. With the exception of bruised muscles and a wounded pride I walked away with nary a scratch on me. Perhaps I'm missing what your point is? #58Posted 2008-12-20 17:17:12

Hey Gents,
I'm still in Europe for a couple more weeks but I'm dying to hear any news about the launch date of the ER-6n in Thailand. Anyone have any news? Thanks and Happy Trails! Tony #63Posted 2009-01-07 10:03:11
Will try to get past there today or tomorrow.

Popped in, even better display than last time of entire color selections of ninja and D-Trackers and KLX's.. They have moved the scooters out of the main show space and moved the KSR's to the back..
ER6N.. That got a grin from the manager.. 'coming soon' I ribbed him that he said december 90%.. New year loy % !! Hes laughing and saying still new year now.. Etc etc.. He still thinks hes getting it soon.. When pushed if soon was weeks or months he seems to think soon means weeks.. "January shoo-wa" was his grinning guess. He also repeated that it will be 270k.. That what he said before, and I double and triple checked that and asked if he 'thinks' thats the price or hes sure thats the price.. Shoo-wa was again the answer.. Tho I get a vibe that he doesnt really have a clue.. And thats Thai best guess.. Friendly chap tho, tried to get me on a d-Tracker test ride there and then. #65Posted 2009-01-07 14:32:23

Nice work Livinlos.....I guess January's only got a few weeks to go, we will have to wait and see. Edited by neverdie, 2009-01-07 14:32:58. #66Posted 2009-01-07 14:52:20
Last time a Thai person told me call you back in a few minutes it became 3 hours, so a few weeks could easily become 24 March 2009

Thanks LivinLOS! Appreciate the update!
Anyone in BKK have time to visit Kawasaki Big Bike on Rama 9 to see what their story is on the ER-6n? Perhaps they might have a more definitive answer... But then again, TiT Happy Trails! #68Posted 2009-01-14 19:18:06
For anyone who missed it, January's Fast Bikes magazine has an article on the 09 ER6-N. They rate it a 9/10!

Yep Crobiker. All the jap brands have the transformer look goin on.
Personally I hate it. Red Baron have a barn full of new 08 bikes. The Gixxer 1000 is nice. #73Posted 2009-01-16 12:12:20
The more I look at it, the more that 09 facelift grows on me.. They did only subtle tweaks to the bike, but all round the cumulative improvements make it from a bit ugly to quite tasty IMHO, the previous headlight was pure fugly !!
I would want to ride one, and contrast and compare to the revvy FZ6 to see how much it appealed, I was quite surprised to see it has 60 something hp, v high 90's for the FZ6 and over a 100 for sport 600's.. The Speed Triple is now up to 108... I mean a really old 1990 era 400 puts out 60hp, I know its a twin, and I know it should have more torque pull, but even so ?? Doesnt that sound low on a modern bike ?? Tho maybe the twin feeling is more suited to a 600 sport tourer ?? Either way Kwaker are hitting price points that appeal.. They seem to be the manufacturer making the most effort in the Thai market, tho as Tonys pointed out they could do with some marketing push. #74Posted 2009-01-16 13:16:59
FZ-6. Winner. 2006 please.

Hi guys, if the ER6N to be in LOS is the new model, a la the Gold one in the previous post, it will be "Wacko the Diddle Oh!" They won't have a spare one to put in the showroom! The changes run to the chassis & swing-arm as well as cosmetics so it will even more enjoyable to ride in the twisties!
