Rumour about Thaksin should be verified before taken seriously: PM
BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Wednesday reminded the public to check the rumour about ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra before forming any conclusion. Abhisit was reacting to rumour that countries, like Nicaragua and United Arab Emirates, might grant the status of special citizenship for Thaksin. Past speculations relating to Thaksin proved false, he said, referring to Thaksin's claims that a number of countries would grant him special passport or would seek his advise or would provide safe haven. -- The Nation 2009-02-25 #2Posted 2009-02-25 19:05:29 george, on 2009-02-25 18:59:17, said: Abhisit was reacting to rumour that countries, like Nicaragua and United Arab Emirates, might grant the status of special citizenship for Thaksin. #3Posted 2009-02-25 20:14:04
Let them do what they like. As soon as it's found that he's a "special citizen" of anywhere, revoke his Thai citizenship.

Well with rumours circulating of possible arrest in HK, no doubt he needs a secure bolthole in which he can sleep with peace of mind

One wonders whether Togo's offer is still on the table? A pre-positioned and manned Togo bolthole

The media could do their homework before sending the unverified information out to just to keep his name in the press.

I doubt he will be arrested in HK. He will be speaking at the FCC next Monday.

If Thai govt files extradition request with Chinese authorities, they might arrest him first and sort it out later. Not likely but possible.
Quote The media could do their homework before sending the unverified information out Last time they, the media, made up the story themselves, the only thing they verified was if their bogus claim of Bahamas/Chad citizenship sounds plausible enough to fool Thai public. Thaksin and co have been setting up fake media outlets specifically for that purpose for ages. Propaganda and disinformation have always been his primary tools for controlling people. #9Posted 2009-03-01 07:31:20
Anywhere far away will be good.

Anywhere far away will be good. I agree, and a place with triple insulated walls, no phone, no microphone wires, no megaphone - so we won't have to hear Thaksin's incessent self-pitying whinning. Have someone set up a 55 gallon barrel for him - with one end open, so he can cry and shout and complain and bleat in to it - as often and as loudly as he likes. Thai media continues to stick its feet in the tar, as is doles out pap smear daily, just to keep Thaksin's name in the news. Edited by brahmburgers, 2009-03-01 08:29:19. |
