hi all
at the moment I’m connecting to net with a Dtac simcard , nokia mobile phones ( N96 / 6111) with Bluetooth / usb cable using GPRS/ EDGE to my laptop .
My problem is , if i lose connection , the nokia one touch access locks up / hangs , nothing i do will close it , i have tried everything , the only way the close it is to restart my laptop .

so my question is ..... can i connect without using the nokia software , surely there must be a way.
Im running vista .

thanks any help , comments

go to connect to and look to see if your phone is listed there as a modem. I am on vista too

You can connect through there, no need to add a password or user name, just hit enter. This is what mine looks like, I use 12call

If any application fails to respond you can try stopping it with the use of the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del).

Try updating your Nokia PC Suite software before using it again.

Get the latest software HERE.

Thanks Sbk

i looked at that a few days ago , but didt configure it when i saw the Dial up screen
im new Edge , and forgot mention that i have a Truemove connection too ..... they where getting confused i think

Anyway I’ve have played around a little now and all seems to be fine
Over all I’m quite impressed at well the edge connection works ...... not super fast .... but ok for reading

im in pattaya at the mo , and do find the Dtac sim a little faster than the Truemove sim

thanks
