naam, this pinned topic is for people to announce when there are shows. and most of us, including those that show, love their pets, and believe it or not, most of the dogs in shows enjoy themselves or they wouldnt continue in the ring, as they miss having that sort of 'spark' that makes a dos 'showy'. dogs that are miserable in the ring just dont continue.

mango, didnt realize that thais are really in to horses. what breeds are seen? here mostly its quarter horses, apaloosas-- for the barrel racing type stuff,
and arabians for short racing and conformation.

here and there a different breed: some andalusians, hanovers, nto too much of anything else.

found myself comparing 'top model' with dog shows, using my dogs as examples of being able to do hairdo's and stuff to change the 'look' of the person/dog... and amazingly enough, its not enough to just be pretty or conform... even dogs have to have their personalities shine through at shows. dogs that hate to show can be amazing specimens of their breed but if they dont have that 'spirit' in their eye, if they dont enjoy the whole thing, it is notceable. ... just for your info...

This weekend is the Annual Rose Garden Pet show: all sorts of Pets on show: birds/ exotics/ fish / horses. Loads of stalls selling pets and accessories. In a beautiful setting by a river. Worth the drive. Bring the kids for a fun day out!
