Hi all,
I need some advice about cleaning my laptop; a friend told me that using a can of compressed air was the way to unblock vents and remove dust. Can you buy these? Would anyone say it's a good or bad idea or could I pay a shop to clean my latop? How about prices?
Specifically, the vents on my laptop are obviously blocked with dirt and dust. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

you can buy a small air compressor from hardware shops , but really all you should need is a air hand pump

Although cans of air and vacuam cleaners are commonly used they can be a problem with static sensitive devices such as computers.  I am not saying don't use them. I am saying use with care.

I use an ordinary hair dryer on all computers and my notebook too. No problems!
air pressure is more gentle...

It would actually be better to use a vacuum device. Just be sure the machine is earthed and the cleaning tips are made to use on static sensitive devices.
