Hi Everyone,

In 2005, UBC, Truevisions predecessor, offered Payview for the Ashes series I think it was about 1800 Baht for all five tests. Does anyone know if a similar package is being offered this year?

I ve scanned the listings mags, no sign there, and no sign of any onscreen advertising yet. Its no good asking at their offices, the girls there invariably know nothing about anything, other than how to take your money when you pay their exorbitant fees!

If anyones heard anything please post it on here, otherwise its going to be some long days/ nights in the pubs with the South African Supersports channels!!!

The 2005 Ashes was compulsive viewing and with the time difference it was perfect!

It starts in July, so let's hope they will come up with something at the last moment...

If memory serves me correctly, I think it was as little as 1,000 for all 5 tests in 2005.

The next England test series was against Pakistan in Pakistan and true to form, the price went up to something like 1,000 per test!

Needless to say, no subscribers.

I doubt we will benefit from 1,000 for 5 tests again, but it would be great!  Can't wait for it to start.

Ashes to Ashes is an excellent crime thriller series set in the UK in 80's.  :)

FYI, you can get live video streaming of the ashes from willow.tv and other cricket packages as well.  I am currently watching the Twenty20 world cup these days.  I have used this service for a couple of years, as I live in the USA (yes, there are some Americans who enjoy Cricket), and have been quite pleased with it overall.  I normally connect my laptop to my TV via an HDMI cable and it works great.  I will be in in BKK for tests 3-5 so I guess I will be staring at the laptop, unless I can find a sports bar to go hang out at!
