I will admit that I just read this thread's title and then read only the very last post all about rape (now top of page 16).
I wish that Uni girls wouldn't wear the tiny, revealing, skin-tight uniforms simply because it's so distracting. It also masks their true age which is often much older than they would have you believe. I wish Uni students were ordered to dress more moderately, but I accept that the problem lies with me and my perception of girls who wear high-heels, tiny skirts and show off their waxed legs in public - it just messes with my mind, i think they are young but the vast majority are married or already mothers.

i think at university level, this is hard to prevent as we are in the Information Age and a lot of youth like to copy the fashion they see on TVs and on the internet so I believe if the government were to force them to wear uniforms, their skirts would just be as short.

A note, most don't wax their legs here. Many don't need to.

But regarding the age, as mentioned before, I know of friends and even friends of my wife that is single and in our age and still claim to be 10 years younger when they go out to RCA and meet boys... age can be hard to guess here for some. (So can gender, but that is another topic.)

We are facing problem of Rape every day. Recently, 5000 cases of rape in LA did not process even the victums had DNA tests as such 3-4 hours without going to pee in the restroom. Now the New police chief has to reopen the cases..I do not how many happen in other cities in US... Scarely... ( the Real truth that no one wants to talk about )
Every 3 second women get Rape in this civilize society and very few cases get through court. I do not understand why it is not a priority??? What more do we have to fight?? No excuse in my view?? By the way, the police in LA caught one man who raped 15 women after they decided to process the Rape test...  
97% of men are in jail in comparing to 3% of women at this moment. In my personal oppinion a woman has a freedom of expression and she can nake in public if she wants to and no one can touch her unless she consents to ...  However, this is not for Thai women. Yes, they do.   There are more than a few gals at ABAC, both at the main and Bangna 2 campus, although most are the pasty Mormon type, both outwardly and underneath.    I wish they'd import some up from Samui to get the true sorority gal in Thai college uniform look, but most appear to be here only to "explore other planes of existence," and probably wouldn't be too interested in studying anything.

All of this, for some reason, reminds me of something that happened at my High School many moons ago, back in the early 70s when boys and girls often had long hair.

At a school meeting, the school principal gave a long speech about how LONG HAIR was a total distraction........and impairment standing in the way of learning.......totally unacceptable.

A smart guy in our class stood up and said something like, "you are right........so, according to you, both males and females must now cut their hair short."  

The principal did not know what to say.................oh.........ah.........I mean..........I really meant.........oh.........ah.........ah..............

It is just a cultural thing..........and the girls in Thailand, like most girls all over, want to attract boys.

Happy to see that this thread is still going strong. I passed by at NEP for the first time in a long time and noticed that the long shafted black boots have evolved to well over the knees of the dancing personnel.

That is a classic rapist lawyers argument and holds no water.
A naked woman should not be raped,
and if I man can't stop himself it is HIS PROBLEM not hers.

Rape is about power and abuse and not solely about SEX,
rapists typically are controlling and don't care about the victim.
Even musilim women in chadors get raped, it's not the clothes,
it's the the out of control lowlife ripping them off that is the problem.

In most cases it would be that the guy is paying for it and sex is on the agenda anyway. So the rape scenario will never happen.

Any self respecting lady would never strip down in front of a man she hardly knows or not desires to have a sexual relationship with. If she did, the guy would be receiving all the wrong signals and if the man did get carried away with the moment, the girl would be 99.99% to blame.

I am not suggesting that some women are asking for it, but they should use common sense if they consider their safety.

Again, the clothes doesn't trigger it. If we are talking about rape between strangers (most are actually carried out between family members, friends and distant friends), where the victim is attacked in a park etc, the clothing has no real bearing on if the attack will happen or not, the opportunity is more important (and in some cases if the victim trigger some reaction from haircolor, style etc that he might be purposely targeting, but those cases are rare and more common with serial killers than serial rapists).

Don't forget, I come from a cold country with a lot of snow where people wear thick pants, sometimes two layers of pants, and yet attack-rapes happen.

The rapist doesn't hide in the bushes, minding his own business, when suddenly a lightly dressed woman triggers his instinct - his mind is already set when he walks out from his apartment.
