Hi, i`ve had the race chip pro on my pajero for over a year now, still dont know what are the best settings on the dials 1 and 2..and after reading all the threads on this post (it appears that even the factory settings might not be optimal)
So what settings are the best on these dials and or jumper for a 2.5 auto 2010 pajero (not the vgs model) in your opinion...kind regards NB...dump pipe fitted #583Posted 2011-10-25 13:22:18

Since then i have made contact with a Mr Gerald Reinert from Speedkit and he tells me the following. The owner of Racechip Use to work for him on Promotion, the website, graphics and manuals etc. Mr Reinert says that this product is the OLD Speedkit, 2006 teckno and the manufacturer does not have the source program to change anything in the program code, (this is in his safe) . Mr Reinert's product now has 2010 techno which is why they developed the remote controled and switchable units. As Mr Reinert spends a great deal of his time living in Thailand and is easily contactable by thai mobile i have invited him to respond to these questions on this forum as it's seems to me that installing a product where you can actually speak to the designer about your concerns and how to get the best results from it makes sense. #585Posted 2011-10-27 11:15:06

Very interesting I don't think so as he thanked me for the information about the site. I have sent him an e-mail telling him that i put on this post so now it's up to him to get involved if he wishes. Maybe he has the cables etc that i have seen people looking for over the past year. #587Posted 2011-11-29 08:28:50

He advertises 2010 tech and said that is why they developed the in cabin switch and remote control unit with 4 different settings to allow for who is driving the car. I still havn't fitted either as yet and he hasn't opted to put anything on this forum about his product as i invited him to do. That has surprised me. #589Posted 2011-12-23 09:54:35
hi,
Good topic about the racechip.Actually i'm racechip user too.Install it in my hilux vigo 2.5 non VNT.Good way to basic tuning actually..I have tried setting 4-3,good performance but it trigger my engine check light once during my offroad trip.it will kick in more at 2200rpm..currently test on setting 1-1. #590Posted 2012-02-02 09:35:50
I've read this entire thread (all 589 before current post) and found the posts regarding the Racechip and other type chips very informative. I have a 2009 Toyota Fortuner 3.0D and been thinking about ordering a new basic Racechip or buying a used one if one pops up....anyone got one that want to sell it along with the 3 pin connecting cable that works on a Forturner?.
Anyway, I thought I would first try out Racechip's technical support. So I sent them a short email last night saying I had a basic Racechip and need to know the factory settings becasue the settings are messed-up for my Fortuner. Got a response this morning/less than 24 hours saying left switch to 9 and right switch to B [i.e., factory settings are 9-B]. Hopefully most everyone is still satisfied with their Racechip? #591Posted 2012-02-02 10:27:36

Check whether 3 or 6 pin for your application. The image on the Racechip web site shows a 3 pin cable/connector and from me looking at the connector on my Fortuner it has only three wires going to the connector. I haven't pulled the connector off to make sure that maybe those 3 wires are maybe wired to a 6 pin connector but since it only has 3 wires going into the connector I assuming it's a 3 pin connector. I'll pull the connector off and look soon when the engine is cold. I don't even have to remove the plastic cover on the engine top to easily access the common rail...adding in a Racechip would definitely be easy and quick. Now I just need to decide do I really, really want & need the Racechip or am I just having an "urge" to buy. #593Posted 2012-02-02 15:40:27
Now I just need to decide do I really, really want & need the Racechip or am I just having an "urge" to buy. Have you ever used full throttle? If the answer is yes, you will definitely have no regrets, but you will kick yourself for sitting on the fence so long #594#595Posted 2012-02-06 12:25:42

Have you ever been overtaking in your Fortuna, and realised you will barely make it before you are head on with that 18 wheeler coming from no where towards you, yes no doubt your chips is justified for you and your family, for increased safety #598Posted 2012-02-09 19:17:45
