2 million people expected to contract A H1N1 flu in 2 months

Public Health Ministry estimated that over 2 million people will be infected with the new flu virus during the next two months.
About 70 per cent of infected people will not show symptom while 30 per cent will have influenza like illness and 20 per cent will need treatment at hospital.
"We have to tell people urgently about the infection prevention and health promotion," The Department of Disease Control's senior health expert, Dr Kamnuan Ungchoosak said Tuesday.

On what do they base these statistics? If I have no symptoms, how will I know I have swine flu? If this is the case will I still be entitled to some days off work on the sick?
Anybody interested in how these statistics are obtained should watch this
CDC Guesstimated Swine Flu Cases and Refused CBS Freedom of Information Request!
Listen out for this quote from the government official
"Once we are sure that the data reflects what we want to report it will be released to the public"
Thus any data that does not match our hyped claims of H1N1 dangers will be hidden

Have just been on holiday in Australia staying with a doctor friend. He insisted that he give me the pig flu vaccine because of my age. Elderly people suufer very badly from this flu and many die. All elderly people there get a free vaccination.

I thought that this strain was unusual because it tends to target younger healthy people.

SWINE FLU PREVENTION ADVICE
The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth /throat.  It's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1 N 1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1 N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

To prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms  and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, can be practiced :

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications) .

2. "Hands-off-the- face" approach.  Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1 N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms.  Simple gargling prevents proliferation.

In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one.  Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water.* Blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*

5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can.

*Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

A second memo on the topic that I'm passing along as helpful:
Differences between Cold and Swine Flu  Symptoms

    Symptom:  Fever

Fever is rare with a cold.
Fever is usually present with the flu in up to 80% of all flu cases. A temperature  of 100°F or higher for 3 to 4 days is associated with the flu.

    Symptom:  Coughing

A hacking, productive (mucus- producing)  cough is often present with a cold.
A non-productive (non-mucus producing) cough is usually  present with the flu (sometimes referred to as dry cough).

    Symptom:  Aches

Slight body aches and  pains can be part of a cold.
Severe aches and pains are common with the flu.

    Symptom:  Stuffy Nose

Stuffy nose is commonly present with a cold  and typically resolves spontaneously within a week.
Stuffy nose is not commonly present with the flu.

    Symptom:  Chills

Chills are uncommon with a cold.
60% of people who have the flu experience chills.

    Symptom:  Tiredness

Tiredness is fairly mild with a cold.
Tiredness is moderate to severe with the flu.

    Symptom:  Sneezing

Sneezing is commonly present with a  cold.
Sneezing is not common with the flu.

    Symptom:  Sudden Symptoms

Cold symptoms tend to develop over a few days.
The flu has a rapid onset within 3-6 hours. The flu hits hard and  includes sudden symptoms like high fever, aches and pains.

    Symptom:  Headache

A headache is fairly uncommon with a  cold.
A headache is very common with the flu, present in 80% of flu  cases.

    Symptom:  Sore Throat

Sore throat is commonly present with a  cold.
Sore throat is not commonly present with the flu.

    Symptom:  Chest Discomfort
Chest discomfort is mild to  moderate with a cold.
Chest discomfort is often severe with the  flu.

  Warning  signs for children
  §          Troubled or abnormal breathing
  §          Bluish skin color
  §          Lessened intake of water/fluids
§          Extended sleep or lack of interaction
  §          Irritable
  §          Fever with rash
§          Flu-like symptoms recede, but return with fever and  worsened cough
  Warning  signs for adults
  ·        Difficulty in  breathing or shortness of breath
  ·        Pain/pressure in  chest/abdomen
  ·        Sudden dizziness
  ·        Confusion
  ·        Severe or  persistent vomiting
Note: No vaccine is available for Swine Flu.  Seasonal flu vaccines or past immunizations DO NOT provide protection against  the H1N1 virus
Note: Please visit a qualified physician if you  suspect Swine Flu symptoms. Avoid self-treatment
Note: Persons infected with the H1N1 virus may be able to pass  it on 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 7 days after infection

2 Million Expected To Contract A H1n1 Flu In 2 Months

Over 15 Million to get infected ( The Nation 2.11.09 )

- 70 Million Thais
- Vaccine in December or January 2010 avalaible
- 2 Million doses of vaccines ordered by Thai authorities only
- Most of those vaccines go to medical workers , followed by women more than three months pregnant, people who weigh more than 100 kilograms; six-month-old kids; people over 64; and people with neurological impairment. And of course influential people in Thailand !

What about the remaining 68 million people in Thailand ? In some western Europe , every person can get vaccination within the next 2 months - free of charge . Where can we get our shot ?

Dr Mercola wrote recently....

In her article, Physicians are Talking About: Is It Worth Getting the  H1N1 Vaccine?, Nancy Terry writes:

“… However, other physicians are equally adamant about not getting the  H1N1 vaccine.

"I don't want to be a lab rat," says an internist. "No way I or my family  will receive the vaccine. Not a chance!" comments another internist.

"Emphatically no to both vaccines," says a family medicine physician. "I  agree with Dr. Joseph Mercola's take on the swine flu and this and the prior  round of vaccinations for it. I believe, based on all I've read to date, that  vaccinations cause a body more harm than good."

"I remember the last vaccine rushed to production. People died and some  developed paralysis," says another family medicine physician. "I prefer to take  my chances."

Several physicians wonder about the advisability of vaccinating segments  of the population already exposed to influenza.

An emergency medicine physician, who saw H1N1 cases throughout September,  comments, "If the epidemiology here mirrors the Southern Hemisphere flu season,  by the time H1N1 vaccine is available the virus probably will be done  circulating through my community."…

… "This ain't your grandma's seasonal flu virus," says a pediatrician.  "It's a quadruple-reassortant swine/avian hybrid that's never been seen before,  significantly different from its predecessors, even if relatively wimpy." For  this reason, he suggests that caution is warranted with regard to the infection  and the vaccine. He adds, "It's not inconceivable that this vaccine could cause  side effects not seen with seasonal vaccine, although it seems safe in trials,  so far."

A family medicine physician agrees: "Any vaccine made at the last minute  and made only by a few manufacturers with huge government contracts at stake  cannot help but be higher risk for untoward side  effects."

… A family medicine physician comments, "I'm not sure I can justify  recommending this vaccine to all children until safety is better ascertained  when, so far, cases on the whole  seem to be mild."

As you  can see, I’m Dr Mercola am not the only doctor on the block who has serious reservations.  Hopefully, together we will be able to make a difference and save countless  people from unnecessary harm.

I also found this story very interesting

GENEVA: Switzerland on Friday restricted the use of British drugs group GlaxoSmithKline's H1N1 flu vaccine Pandemrix, excluding pregnant women, minors and people over the age of 60.

Obviously Big Pharma are not getting it all their own way, and I for 1 do not intend to take the vaccine if offered

Mercola is a notorious quack but we can all weigh for ourselves the risks of getting a vaccine that hasn't gone through standard testing procedures against contracting a virus with generally mild or even no symptoms.

Dont worry Frank as there are a lot of people who wouldnt volunteer to have an untested vaccine with mercury and othere harmfull toxins injected into their viens.  So there will be plenty available for the profane

Why would anyone risk a new vaccine when the flu will only inconvenience one out of every 35 people in the country?

I urge everyone Please watch this. It is the most complete 100% factual summary of the H1N1 flu scenario I have seen.

TERESA FORCADES, doctor in Public Health, reflects on the history, and gives scientific data, of A type flu and lists all the irregularities related to this subject.

Agree or disagree, it is up to you, but you owe it to yourselves and families to at least look at the facts being clearly presented beofre you decide

It's all hyped up to make people take the shots so the brown envelopes can flow (or tea money), making profits for the select few..
You probably have more chance of being run over than dying from this.

My friend had it last week and he was OK. Just like a cold he said.
Another friend's daughter had it. She was OK too.
And a few months ago, another friend's elderly mother had it. She's still going strong.

I won't take any shots for this.

But it's 'up to you'.
