I've gone through lots of postings, google searches and no luck. Currently running 2 ubuntu versions 9.04

My computer can find the other printers but are unable to print anything from them

Under Basic Server Settings:
I have enabled: Show printers shared by other systems & publish shared printers connected to this system

under the printer properties which are a shared comupter I still keep getting
Printer State: Processing - recoverable: Unable to connect to printer; will retry in 30 seconds. This printer is hooked up on the other computer and can print

PLEASE NOTE: this is just sharing computers between ubuntu computers only, there are no windws involved

Do i need to edit some cupsd.conf files or what. any help would be really appreciated

You can get a idea of what went wrong by looking at the Syslog . System->Administrator->View Log . I don't have a printer but if you have the log we can try to figure out a solution . This might help Ubuntu Help
