We are going to Bali in a couple of weeks, I know it's better to take US Dollars for my visa on arrival, am I better changing all my spending money into Dollars or are Thai Baht readily acceptable?

Presume there are ATM's in the main towns, Sanur?

Thanks

We went to Bali earlier in the year and you can exchange Thai Baht for Indonesian Rupiah but the exchange rate isnt as good as if youre cash was US Dollars.
Sanur is a smaller place than you might think. There should be ATM's around....possibly Hardys Supermarket. If not, then certainly Denpasar and Kuta will have them.
We just took cash with us as we only stayed for a week. There are money changers everywhere.Rates are variable so shop around. The airport will give you the worst rates...about 20 shops there when you arrive but dont consider it unless you really have to.

Convert Thai baht into US dollars in Thailand then US dollars to Rupiah in Bali.  You will get a much better rate than a direct exchange in either country

hardys has a full line of atm and you will get a better rate from the atm then any other place, take a few dollars but get your bulk cash from the atm.  take a bemo( small green van with open door)  from anywhere in sanur for a couple of thousand ruhpia or walk.

I allways use thai ATM to withdraw rupias. The fee is around 100 baht (in thai bank) and the exchange rate THB/IDR is the real one.
