Well I am a little late for a comment here, but never the less it is going to be posted.

Folks, there goes your freedom to come and go as you please inside the airports around here.   Security is now in effect, and those not traveling are barred from going past a checkpoint.  In Don Muang, this means the area where you go inside a fence area, check your bags in and then exit out the other end, and still walk around.  Well that area now is going to be closed off to the non flyers, so once you check in that's it, and away you go to immigrations directly.

Now that part is ruined to us the public of being with our friends or family before we see immigrations etc.   So why don't we give thanks to these frickin terrorists or bombers in their name of their frickin Allah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:o

I swear if I see just one of those Bozo's or observe them doing something out of the ordinary like tucking one under the seat or placing it down and then leaving it behind deliberately,  I won't hesitate to terminate them first and ask questions later.  We the public have had enough of their bull and they ought to be sent to shiola and never come back.

I have said it before in the past that the security of these airports here is way too lax and it was a disaster waiting to happen.    They came awful close to the airport itself.   Anymore than that it will be the planes.

Just seeing the plans and drawings of the new airport now being built, god help all of us.  There is nothing to stop them from having a field day.   Even the fuel tanks are outside of the airport itself.  Just viset.    There is no secured perimeter around that new airport, much less one can literally get inside and kiss the planes tires without a problem.

The other scary part is on Don Muang Highway upper level, one can simply stop a car, point that deadly hand missile launcher and viola.   It is a clear and unobstructive view!!!!!!!  for several kilometers!!!!!!!  They can pick anything within sight.  It is also very easy to enter the security perimeter there too.  Unheard of in America.

But again this is Thailand.  So Smile on Folks.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey here is the solution.  If these Bozo's want to separate and have their own piece of territory, sure why not, Thailand and or Malaysia have many islands off the coast, so give them that piece of Island.   This way they are off the mainland and out of circulation and they can fend for themselves.

Then the Security forces can secure this Island of these Individuals and contain them right smack there.  Only way out is via Boat and there will be no boats provided to them.

Hmmmmmmm something like the former San Quentin Federal Penitentiary off the coast of San Fran.   It was an Island my friends.

Just a thought of it stimulates me to keep these suckers plastered and stuck.

Yeah, totally unheard of... ...like when a local news station (think it was NBC6) sent in a crew at the FLL tarmac TWICE in a row and they walked around for 30-40 minutes before anyone even asked them who they were (no badges or anything).

A few more:

Except for new TSA monkeys having 3 year old kids stand with their hands up while being scrutinized as "selectees" because they're flying on one way tickets etc, US airport security has not changed after 9/11.

Meemiathia, they are not victims, their brothers/friends are.  Revenge is a powerful feeling, and Southerners are generally not known for being very forgiving.

>>>>>>
I understand that there are quite a few million muslims in Thailand.  Can't they just group up and voice out.  And do something in a different way if they think they are so unfairly treated.
>>>>>>>>

When Southern Peace Keeping Committee (?) was dissolved a few years ago it made the news and I wondered why. Now we see the results. That committee was the only channel to take local views in consideration. The deep South is ruled by Bangkok appointed governors, not by locals. Police, army, judiciary - all outsiders. It's effectively colonised by "proper" Thais. There are a lot grivances there that have nothing to do with religion per se.

>>>>>>>>
The isaan people are poor.  A lot of people are poor in Bangkok.  Should they all start killing people?
>>>>>>>

When Taksin went down South for the first time he did his usual routine: "Everyone who is poor, raise your hands". No one moved - they are proud people who don't like to be treated like beggars. Poverty is not an issue for Muslims. I think destroying their social fabric, trumping on their religious laws, seducing their people with vices etc. is far more important for them. It's been a ticking time bomb for ages - whiskey drinking, pork eating, brothels running Thai/Chinese ruling over Muslims. That was before OBL, before Iraq. The situation is a lot more difficult now. The Pandora Box has been opened.

Problem is Dave- those people who do think that the 3 provinces should somehow be separated, kind of have a point.

Before the Allies ceded that area to the Kingdom of Thailand, it wasn't under Siamese legislative jurisdiction.

(Historians- that's correct isn't it?)
