Hi aidenai, you have a very good point here, I have the lastest software version on my 60csx, I should have checked with ESRI Thailand first, well too bad, already bought. Good lesson learnt, never trust the pro in thailand too much, need to do your own research.

Just bought a version 9 ESRI map, as the ver 10 will not support my 60 csx fully, this was told by the shop in BKK, any body with a 60csx has the same problem? My gps was bought in Singapore, is that the reason?
I had both v9 and v10, it's true that map 60 csx as well as etrex models don't fully support v10 but works fine with v9. Can install and use v10 but not fully compatible to describe. The guy that told you so is honest, cheers.

Why symptoms does the incompatibility have ??

Is it just not performing the junction view functions or is it some show stopper ??

It appears to work Okay except the city search doesn't work. A work around is to choose a category such as hotels and type the city name in. That will at least take you to the city.

I updated the Thai firmware for my Garmin 205 from the ESRI GPSsociety website and all is well with TSM v.10 and the search function.

My Nuvi 750 is up to date and it still has the problem. My favorite old Street Pilot 2610 is now obsolete and will not read NT maps. A pox on Garmin. I don't know what they were thinking. I was told by Garmin support that they have no intention of updating the software.

A friend of mine liked the Street Pilot even after I told him he wouldn't be able to update the map. ESRI V9 runs fine. I sold it to him.

Apparently ESRI does not offer firmware for the Nuvi 750. I would guess only units sold in Thailand have updates available.

Correct. ESRI provides the Thailand Street Map (TSM) and Thai firmware for the Garmin units sold in Thailand. If you buy a Garmin GPS anywhere else and bring it to Thailand, then you are on your own. People can always use the City Navigator SEA map from Garmin.

I have a Nuvi 770 bought in Canada. Working fine with the V10 map. I would like to be able to use Junction View, and realise I need to change the firmware. Does anyone know where I can get it?

From a previous post by jackspratt.

As far as using junction view etc, it is possible to flash the firmware  of a UK model to the Asian firmware, so that it will support the extra  features.

If you are comfortable and confident about proceeding,  I suggest you google something like "garmin flashing firmware junction  view" (no inverted commas). You will find plenty of information on how  to do it.
