I had a Nissan Truck in America and put 200,000 miles or 320,000 trouble free kilometers on it. Mine had been built in Japan and it was a great truck. Seems with any make you will hear good and bad experiences.

My Isuzu runs great but then with only 45.000 km who knows. Toyota and Isuzu seem to be the local choice. Chevrolet is a Isuzu makeover. I would stick in that rang. But then that is just me.

My 2006' Nissan Navara with 50.000+ km of running way has no any problems. Clutch and tires - seems, you'd better change your driving style, nothing more... However, all thai people always recommend Isuzu.

I own a 2006 Toyota Prerunner Vigo.
Great motor, 4 door....90,000km and on original Michelins. Never a problem, serviced regularly and I do a fair bit of off road driving. Cant fault it really, never let me down, great vehicle. Edited by soihok, 2009-11-22 23:06:21. #31Posted 2009-12-09 07:33:49
wow... I'm glad I read this, I was just thinking about a Nissan Navarra... thanks... Check out UK and US consumer sites..seems these Nissan trucks suffer from everything that makes 'em run. .....Had a mate with one in Melbourne..everyday a new sad story...he sold it and bought an Isuzu. I have an OLD Mazda Fighter same same Ranger....would like to buy a new one tomorrow (Just need the 800k lol )excellent truck takes lots of abuse ..hope the BT50 is as good. #32Posted 2009-12-09 07:56:29
Have a 2008 Navara.........not one problem with it and as another poster mentioned it is great on fuel.
The only complaint I have is that it is a bit harsh riding, but then it is a truck. I dropped the tire pressure down to 30 psi and that helped alot. If you have a look around Thailand and notice the trucks that are hauling the REALLY heavy loads, they are Nissans. Edited by CDNinKS, 2009-12-09 07:57:07. #33Posted 2011-04-23 13:57:36
Hi all,
I am about to buy a new pick-up here in Thailand for work and I was wondering if there is any updated advice regarding good vs bad choices? In particular, I am thinking of buying a Mitsubishi Triton dual-cab model because of the overall deal and near-term availability. Does anyone have experience with the Mitsubishi's? My other readily available option is the latest model of the Nissan Navara, although the deal is not quite as good on it. Thanks in advance for the advice! |
