CAT launches website for HM the King´s birthday


BANGKOK, 18 November 2009 (NNT) - CAT Telelcom launches a website to encourage Thais worldwide to light candles online to celebrate His Majesty the King's 82nd birthday anniversary on 5 December 2009.


CAT Chairperson Nathi Premrasmi said the website, candlefortheking.com , would operate from 18 November to 9 December 2009. Visitors will be allowed to light candles online and write their wishes for HM the King. All well-wishing messages will be presented to the King after the website is closed.

Grand celebrations for HM the King's 82nd birthday anniversary will be hosted by the government at Sanam Luang and along Ratchadamnoen Road. Magnificent light decorations along the road can be anticipated as well as musical and cultural performances at Sanam Luang from 3-7 December 2009. Activities will start from 18.00 to 24.00 hrs daily.
"Royal Ratchaphruek: Hearts for Our Loving King Festival" is another grand celebration by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to be held from 30 November to 10 December in Chiang Mai province.

HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej is the world's longest-reigning monarch.

We also would like to wish His Majesty the King a quick recovery. My wife came with me to the US forty years ago but we still have great respect for the King. We wish Him a happy birthday and a long healthy life.
