Hi all, I will be staying at Centara Villas in Koh Samui in December. Is there internet coverage there? If so, what sim card should I purchase? I will be in Bangkok afterwards, would the same card still be usable?

Hi mate,

Centara has decent wireless coverage, and the cafe they own on the street side will give you free internet if you buy a coffee.

I have purchased wireless packages from them in the past, and sat on the beach, but for the life of me I cannot remember how much it cost me.

The other thing I did in Samui was use a local sim card and connected my phone to the computer and get internet that way. Worked ok, and although there was a bit of delay, I managed to use skpe as well.

Good luck, Centara is a great place to stay. Each night of the week they have a dinner special featuring different foods of the world. My tip, and I appologise if you know and have stayed ther before, but I highly rate their Japanese night, and of course the Thai night. Make sure you book for that, and ask for a seat to get a good view of the dance show.

Love Samui, enjoy!

The OP is staying at Centara Villas not Centara Grand.
