Questions often arise on this forum as to whether or not people can insist on copies of their medical files, whether or not test medical information (e.g. HIV status) can be disclosed to another person without the patient's consetn, whether or nto terminally ill patients can refuse life support etc etc.

The following link provides English translation of the Health Act of 2550 (2007), which covers these and other points.

Although this Act established the right of patients to make a "Living Will" refusing treatment in advance (patients have always had the right to refuse treatment if they are able to make their wishes known), the Ministerial Regulations to  set forth the procedure for making a legally binding Living Will have only just now been enacted.

Bumping this to draw attention to the update above -- living will legislation has been enacted and will take effect in  a few months. See link above.
