Hi there,
Is it at the moment possible to get to Khao San Road from the airport, or is it very difficult to reach with all the protests in this particular area?
Thanx for any replies.
Is Khao San Road Reachable From The Airport Now?

Dont know about those particular areas but a friend drove to the British Embassy yesterday and said he had never seen Bangkok so quiet. No traffic whatsoever , like a ghost town.

airport bus and 556 are on diversion, but will drom nearby. Taxi no problem to go anywhere.
yestarday there was a traffic jam on sukhumvit, as there were demos outside american and british embassies - probably your friend was there before or after, when police diverted all the traffic in the area further away #5Posted 2010-03-19 08:09:40

On Tuesday night, tried to get there by bus from Sukhumvit. Bus stopped about 2 kilometers from Khao San and was told we had to walk the rest of the way due to the demonstrations. May not be a problem from the airport but be prepared to walk or jump on a tuk tuk.

Your taxi will not go via Phan Fa (Ratchadamnoern Ave.) he'll take a slightly longer route.
No problems... #8Posted 2010-03-20 12:28:33

If you are approaching it from the Democracy Monument route I imagine you will encounter plenty of problems. I cancelled a trip there last Saturday night with some mates because of that risk.
