Zone Reality, Channel 61, has disappeared and been replaced by a Thai language alternative.
How many more English language TV channels are we going to lose on Sophon Cable TV?

Zone Reality is one of the channels they got from DSTV/Multichoice. Maybe they're killing channels off one by one to not be seen as losing half their channels at the end of next month when DSTV stop broadcasting on c-band and the cover for Thailand goes.

Sometime in May most of the channels will be going from cable TV in Pattaya.

I will be satisfied if I can see out the end of the football Premier League and the FA cup final.

I am getting really fed up with Sophon Cable TV but the alternative is not much better unfortunately.

You might start seeing channels from Astro (Malaysia) replacing the lost channels.

I popped into the Sophon office yesterday and asked whether Zone Reality will be returning.
They did not answer me but gave me a comment slip to complete instead.

I hope that you wrote on the comment slip that we demand the return of CNN.

I think you guys had it WAY too good with a lot of channels that were legally dodgy at best, and piracy at worst. In the end you may end up having to get a subscription with a company that actually has the rights to all the good stuff, which, unfortunately, is TrueVisions. Will cost a lot more.

I have just received this email:

I would like to let you know that we are rebuilding our infrastructure

to extent our channel to 120 channels.

In this project, some of the channels that have numbers above 60

will be temporally lost and are replaced by some available contents.

The Zone Reality will come back when we finished this project.

We work hard everyday to finish this project as soon as we can.

You will see our cable has 120 channels in some area first, then

it will be available for the whole city soon.

120 channels sounds interesting but knowing most of it is going to be junk filler I'd rather have a few quality channels and better picture, stereo and surround sound!

Does anyone have anymore details on this option or any others for tv in paaters? just moved down from bkk and would like to avoid true as it really has not a lot to offer that i want (ASN aside)
