Guys,

I'm looking to improve my Thai a bit but would much rather have a tutor come to my home as opposed to a classroom based environment - does anybody have the numer of a Thai tutor that travels?

Many thanks in advance,

Tom.

Brilliant - have you thought about opening up a recruitment agency?

I am looking for the same thing, a tutor that comes to your house or will meet at a place convientent for both of us. I live in Nonthaburi. The tutor can be a man or woman. I would prefer someone with teaching expereince. I asked at the school I teach in but there were no tyakers. It seems the Thai teachers would gossip too much about the activity even though I am happily married. Any leads from others who have had this problem? Nonthanburi seems to have little to offer farangs who want to learn their language.

Which forum is it posted in? (Thats a slightly unfair comment) as sometimes the topic is picked directly from the Todays Best thaivisa topics email that many people subscribe to get each day,and you dont see which forum its in unless you scroll to the bottom after the las post.

Ah, sorry, I didn't know that.

Pattaya - East Pattaya to be specific.

I have that learning thai it is better to learn it from A small classroom of students than A 1+1.Plus it would be more professional for the teacher for the student to come to their class.

Mate,

That was a clear case of if you don't have anything to say, say nothing.

Come on - there must be at least one Thai tutor in Pattaya that will travel!!

Look in the small ads sections of the local newspapers like Mail, Today, and the monthly Trader. They often have adverts for Thai teachers - you may have to pay a bit more for them to come to you, though.

Britannia Language School:

The course consists of 10 x 2 hour lessons with one hour of English & one of Thai. The aim is for both partners to learn together in a relaxed & unpressured environment.
The course times are flexible to suit the students and tutor and can be taken at the Britannia Language School off 2nd Road or privately at the students’ home. So if you have been putting off learning Thai because you feel uncomfortable in a classroom environment, this could be the answer. The course is also available on a one to one basis for either partner in Thai or English.
Please contact Bob at Britannia Language School on 086 733 4972 www.britanniathailand.com

With that type of attitude, you're going to turn off a lot of potential responses.

I can live without responses like the one above, in the end two people came up with good ideas or info and were thanked as they should be - wheras you and several others just posted noise.

But the main thing is that myself and anybody searching the forum for private tutors in the future should now find the info they require, so it has served it's purpose.

I have a private teacher, I go to her house to learn, better than a classroom. I know she does go to Nakula some mornings to teach thai to the Japanese but prefers teaching at home. Great teacher and speaks good english and German. Teaching 30 years already
