DSL is in Thailand. I have been able to view TV from the USA on the internet. There are hundreds of TV stations online as well as sports programming on satellite tv.

Check out some of these sites to see if their are any channels from Canada.

Sorry...  the satellite radio broadcast comes from .... you guessed it... satellites!

Unfortunately, the satellites used are in what is called geo-synchronous orbits above North America.  What that 10$ word means ... is that the satellite appears to be stationary over its assigned location.  In other words those satellites just stay there over Can./USA and never get close enough for a reciever in Thailand to pick up the signal.

Actually, Sirius satellites are not in geosynchronous orbit. They have three satellites that are in highly elliptical orbits.  XM Radio satellites are, however, in geosynchronous orbit.  Nevertheless, the point is that the footprints for these satellites are essentially only within North America.  I believe WorldSpace provides satellite radio in Thailand via their AsiaStar satellite, but I don't know much about it. According to their website, the only sports channel is for U.K. sports.

Don't buy satellite equipment in Canada as it will not work for other satellite radio providers.  These signals are encrypted and require corresponding decoders.
