So here's a few guidelines to explain how things are going to work from now on:
This is not a forum for professionals. They are welcome to participate, but they need to understand that the focus is for the hobbyist, and as such the mood should be helpful and friendly, not harshly critical. People unable to conduct themselves in a polite and helpful manner should refrain from posting. If they have difficulty refraining, a moderator will be happy to assist them.
There is now a zero tolerance policy in here for flaming, name calling and insults. Do it once and your posting rights are removed, nobody is exempt. Use the report button if needed.
Don't liberally post your photos everywhere unless they are directly relevant to the topic. If you want to show off your photos you are more than welcome to, but start your own topic, don't hijack someone else's. If you do, your posts will be deleted.
Nothing in good taste is out of bounds here. It doesn't matter if you shot it with a $10,000 SLR, a $200 P&S, or your iPhone. If you like the photo, or want to discuss it, post it.
We want to help and encourage people who are new to photography. Don't be afraid to post your photos, even if they have problems. Listening to advice from other photographers is one of the best ways to learn.
Take criticism in good grace. People are trying to help you. Listen and learn.
We appreciate the input from everyone to help our members enjoy their hobby. Feel free to offer advice when you think you can help.
Should you have any questions please to talk to Astral or myself.
Thanks.
