I'm guessing if you roll in to Kamala it shouldn't be too hard to see what's going on and I can't see it being that expensive if there's a charge at all.  The course is 5-7 km's long. How much of that will be miles deep in the jungle I don't know, or where the best vantage point will be.

I think I'm going to miss and I'm gutted. Should be a lot of fun.

There is a start, and or finish line, or maybe just an awards area, at the Tsunami Memorial Park, and also a roped off area in the vacant lot just south of the Friday market.

Went there with the kid. Was enduro, with nowhere to sit and watch the whole circuit. Ended up in a relaxed bar with a view of part of the circuit.
Didn't regret going, but won't go again.
