Spoke to the girls at the dealership near me today concerning accessories. They weren't too sure even what came as standard on the XLT (I think I may have had a better idea than some of them), and when we asked about prices they disappeared for 30 minutes, only to return with a web page printout and a hastily drawn up table of some rough estimates.
I wasn't too happy with this service so called up the Silom dealership (I thought Bangkok dealerships were likely to have a better idea of what is going on) and they said that most of the accessories are not available in Thailand right now and won't be for at least another 4 months. Though when I asked about a boot liner, he said they have them in Silom (the chachoengsao branch said they would try and find one for us, lucky me #1104#1105Posted 2012-02-08 23:08:42

Has anybody had one delivered with liner included yet? Now that you mention liners...I wondered do they do spray on liners in Thailand like line-X? http://www.line-x.ca...x.php?page=home #1110#1112Posted 2012-02-09 19:19:44
From what I've been reading, no "public Wildtraks" have been delivered. I think you'll find that was a press car, that review has been out over a month.
I'm translating Thai back to English which doesn't always work. There's issues with QC of certain parts, that's what the gossip is leading us to believe. Edited by stefan2519, 2012-02-09 19:20:17. #1113Posted 2012-02-09 19:26:59

I'm translating Thai back to English which doesn't always work. There's issues with QC of certain parts, that's what the gossip is leading us to believe. My apologies. But it did come up on "last 24hrs" google search. And the red plate misled me... #1114Posted 2012-02-09 19:59:20
easy mistake, it was copied from another site.
The word is, they will start shipping on some 2.2s after the 12th of this month, although they did say the same thing last month. Liners have also hit BKK dealers;

seems to me the delayed wildtracks are due to missing bedliners, manufactoring and shipping of them started a week ago

I saw a lack Wildtrack a week or two ago on 304.

Picture supposedly taken yesterday in Rayong. I'm not sure if they're 3.2s or 2.2s but I hope there's a black 2.2 in there somewhere! The Udon dealer who said the Aurora Blue one I wanted would be delivered in about a month just called and says he has a True Red one available today if I want it. So, I guess when they finish the red paint, the next batch will be.... #1119#1120Posted 2012-02-10 07:53:03
Well, assuming the Ranger is using the 3.2 Transit's chip, I would expect that the 2.2 can also use the 2.2 Mondeo chip.
Bare in mind that no one has tested it out yet, so keep us updated anyone whom does install. #1121Posted 2012-02-11 13:35:29
That car park in Rayong seems to be getting smaller, or them rangers are like rabbits;

I don't think they'd book more than one ship a week to Australia.

That car park in Rayong seems to be getting smaller, or them rangers are like rabbits; That's a hell of a lot to be just sitting around! I hope these are ready to move out, I wouldn't like my new truck to be sitting out in the open for several months. It seems that overseas markets are being catered to first and we have to wait. I think that's why ford have not been clear on the introduction of the 3.2 here. Do we have to wait for the Motorshow for the 'formal' introduction? Hopefully there will be a price for the 3.2 then. Anyway, once our production comes on song, how long would delivery take? Ford/mazda are usually quite fast, but if there are 7000 booking already made it might take a while to clear that backlog. I think I'll wait till the Motorshow next month to see what's on offer and might squeeze in a test drive of the 2.2 in the meantime. Just over there last few days I've seen a number of rangers sitting around dealer parking lots and a couple of testers on the road, so hopefully at least the 2.2 should be delivered to customers shortly. #1125Posted 2012-02-12 16:09:46
So, my 2 month delay for a 2.2 Wildtrack has now expanded to March-April delivery.
Thus my 3 weeks since booking means that I may be waiting 3 and a half months for the bloody thing. The salesboy says I am at the top of the list because I am paying cash. But I think he is talking B.S. What do you think? Should I take up an offer from Sime/Darby Mazda? See which lot delivers first and then cancel the slouch? Getting a BMW was a lot faster (in Aus though). |
