My friends came back today from a visa run with Herberts visa run from Koh Samui to Kota Bharu.
Both had only four months validity left on their WP.
Both got 1 year multiple entry non-B visas.

According to them they require minimum nine months left on WP.
They made an exemption for them because they had contract for one more year. All paperwork was nice bundled and verified by our Lawyer who is public notarial and a judge in Suratthani. Three in the visa run group was refused visas, don't know what they applied for and their visa history. #3
