KOH CHANG: -- The Koh Chang police were notified when the headless body of an unidentified woman washed up on the beach near a hotel on Monday, September 12. The police found the nude body in an advanced state of decomposition lying face down on the beach. The time of death was estimated at around 6 days.
Judging by the appearance, the police believe the deceased is a foreign woman. No traces of injury were found on the body. The police think she may have died elsewhere and the body washed up on the shore where it was found by beach goers.
The body has been sent to the coroner in order to determine cause of death and the police continue to investigate to determine the woman's identity.

They can tell that the deceased was not a Thai based on a headless, nude body in an advanced state of deterioration?

They did not say they could tell, they believe it might be a foreigner by appearance.

I think you know what was meant: that there was no visible trauma or injury on the body itself (other than the head being missing, naturally).

Sad! RIP

Remember the bodyless head hanging from the Rama VIII bridge a couple of years ago? That was ruled a suicide.
When there's a decapitation, two words come to mind: Russian Mob.

Let's hope the discovery of 2 murdered farang women in one day doesn't become a trend.

Good lord, its a phrase, get over it. This nitpicky stuff that hijacks topics is really poor netiquette.

Another poor soul with a terrible and still untold story. May she rest in peace.

No, but I have seen a body in an advanced state of decay and was unable to discern whether the person had been black, white, yellow, or purple.

It is NOT a fact. People dying from old age and natural causes --which are included in the figures -- do NOT make a place "dangerous".

I think that you might look at this from a different perspective if you were one of the victims.

Victims of what? Old age?
Based on your "logic", do you go around telling people that hospitals are the most dangerous buildings in the world because -- proportionally -- more people die in them than anywhere else?

Can we drop this British most dangerous place to live thing please?? It has almost no relevance to this topic.
And lets have a little decorum here, this was a human being and someone loved her. Where is your decency?

Obviously, someone (the press, more likely than not) got it wrong the first time. Not that hard to understand, is it?

Well yes it is. She either did or she did not, it's hardly a small detail is it. RIP to the victim.
