I have been issued a one year visa in conjunction with a work permit. I know that if I leave the company I am with the work permit that has been issued can and will be cancelled. My question is that if I leave the company, can they also cancel my one year visa,as this is what my company have told me

First you have to know what your have.

Is it a one year multi entry B visa issued by a Consulate?  That would not be effected and you could stay until end of current permitted to stay stamp or exit and return as long as the visa date had not expired.

If not you must have a one year extension of stay issued by immigration on the basis of your employment and that will indeed be invalid after you end the employment.  So if this is what you have they are telling you the truth.
