FYI - I got to play around with PhotoSynth today - made by Microsoft, it captures panoramic images.

It's amazing. It's also free. The crazy thing about it is how it doesn't really have a user interface - you see the image, and in the center, the "current mosaic piece". When the software detects a match, it adds it to the panorama. You can also manually add pieces to the pano - in all directions - left, right, up, down. So you slowly turn and eventually could do a whole 360 globe around you.

Dramatically better than other panorama apps I've used (and paid for).

Best Microsoft software since Flight Simulator.

I agree. New versions recently have made it even better. Ironically still exclusive to iPhone. No version for Windows phone yet
