A printed version we've called the " North Thailand Road & Off-Road Map" is currently being printed in Bangkok & contains the exact same data as the North Thailand Off-Road & Tarmac GPS map, this should be available for sale in about 2 weeks. Retail price will be 180 bht, all profits from printed map sales (printed on waterproof paper) will be donated to charities within Thailand.

This is the most up-to-date & unique map of north Thailand, containing all the latest roads & off-road track and trails not on ANY other map of north Thailand, nothing comes close.

We currently have large (79cm X 79cm) wall mount "North Thailand Road & Off-Road Maps" for sale, with eyelets in each corner, on indestructible vinyl. They can even be mounted outside in the rain as they are completely waterproof.
These are for sale for 750 bht. They cost 600 Bht to print, 150 Bht from each map will be donated to various charities in the region. We have received a great deal of interest these large vinyl wall maps in the first day of release, the printed maps that will retail for 180 Bht will follow shortly.

We now have now received the "North Thailand Road & Off-Road" printed map (on waterproof paper) from the printer (air freighted up from Bangkok last night due to the flooding). Retail price as stated before will be 180 bht, all profits will be given to charity.
The map can be purchased from Rider's Corner Bar & Restaurant, Chiang Mai, C & P Bike rentals, Chiang Mai & will be distributed to various outlets in the coming week. It will also be available at the SE-ED book shops in all the shopping malls shortly - great that we got their validation.
This is the most up-to-date map of north Thailand, with the added bonus of unique off-road trails, not on ANY other map.

Garmin's BaseCamp is reported to import maps directly from your GPS.

In MapSource click on "Utilities" and enter 25 character unlock code. You will need an unlock code generator, available on the internet.

If you download Garmin's basecamp software, with your Garmin gps connected to your computer, you should be able to view the map in basecamp on your computer.

Thanks for that. After some playing around I finally got your North Thailand Map to load into Mapsource. The thing that initially seemed to be tripping things up was that there appeared to be no FID code embedded in the mapset and unless I manually set an FID code when splitting the files for Mapsource it was a no-go.
BTW, when I bought the maps it came on a SD card with no documentation. What are the licensing terms on this product? I have only one GPS unit and will be sharing the maps with no one, so I assume that it's legal for me to hack on them however I want in order to use them on my PC and on my GPS unit. Is that a good assumption? I only ask because I ran into the need for an unlock code when working with Mapsource, and I'm not sure if that's because of a technical issue with Mapsource or because of copy protection on your mapset.

OP - Under Thai law it is copyrighted for 50 years - illegal to copy but can be used in different Garmin GPS's - it's not locked to one GPS unit.

The unlock code is a Garmin annoyance created to make them more money. In the good old days you could only purchase the unlock code from Garmin.

When you do that, this is what you get:

At first I thought that GmapTool was failing because there was no FID in the img file, but actually it was because there are two FID's. I found that when splitting the img file, if I specified a random 3 digit FID to override the FID's in the img file, then GMapTool would succeed and it would be possible to load the maps into mapsource.
