We have just finished a new pool in Trat, and I thought I would take a moment to post pictures showing most of the process - a) excavation, forms, rebar, piping, concrete, tiling, water filling.  Some say its easy, and it generally is if you're experienced.  The devil is in the details, like site surveys, design, concrete mix, etc.

Looks good .. until that awful grotto effect gets built.

But sorry - my purpose is not to try to badmouth a pro pool builder. I see many falang trying to build pools themselves on here. I just hope they are building the bog simple ones. I had one built for me with the overflow channel returns on three sides. I love DIY but I could never have confidently built a 90 M3 pool that was so dead level (and remained so after settling) that it would drain consistently around the edge. Sometimes you just have to pay for experience - I would have had nightmares otherwise.

Two things impress me:

1) Its cast in place which should last a lifetime if done correctly.
2) The curved concrete forms are not easy to do and keep in place when pouring/ vibrating the concrete.

Nice job!

On the faux rock:
If natural rock is available its quite cheap. I bought nice iron oxide coloured rocks at 180B per M2. They vary from medium sized up to 8 tons each, bought and trucked direct from the quarry. Tipped the loader driver to keep the nice looking ones to one side. Note: Real rock needs stronger foundations due to the weight.
